A little advice needed on disassociating myself

yes i know i tend to post here only when i need advice or have something to rant about .

so i'm living in the uk but leaving very shortly to go back to my home country of india and try my career luck there (what with the recession and all that).

i'll be living with my mum for a while and i am soooo not looking forward to it.

The way I, and I must say this is only my thoughts would play it .

I would explain that my absence from you "mum" and home has caused me to be a little bit spiritually low, therefor it might be good for me, now I am back, to have a top up, "Scriptural Top up by way of a bible study with you mum present and an elder taking it.

Then through the course of the study you can have a field day asking all the relevant points and queries you have, without getting yourself at loggerheads with your mum, this will allow mum to see things she may not know anything about, it will also let the elder show whether he will lie his way out of questions, your mum might just see him squirm !!

Whatever way you go good luck to you,

if a paedophile commits a crime against a junior there has to be, according to the watchtower two witnesses for action to be taken.. if one party of a marriage commits adultery, does there have to be the same, (two witnesses) before action is taken?.

hi everybody and my story

as mentioned in my very first port here, i will now give my story and some thoughts i have so far.. i ve been lurking here for about a month, before i registered.

well, a few months ago something like that would be unthinkable for me.. i was raised as a jw, and serve currently as an elder in a congregation.

i have family, also jws.

Husband of Twinkletoes, glad you arrived on the outside (the truth will set you free) many of the concerns you have I also had.

I did not have any relatives left in, so it was reasonably straightforward for me to make a "quick exit" after 30 years unfortunately, reasons (U.N. Blood U-Turn failed prophecies etc.etc.

Once you realise that Jehovah is NOT backing this Org. you can carry on with your relationship/worship of Jehovah without being contaminated with wts doctrine.

remember - this is the information our jw relatives will study in their witness meetings at their watchtower study.

According to the bible and my understanding of it, the one time Jehovah anointed a "King" was Saul, yet this did not stop David being at loggerheads with him constantly, even ridiculing him from the hill top after entering his tent.

He was not disciplined for this at all

Wow, this sparked off a bit of thinking.

After all those deep comments I am a bit hesitant about pursuing my original puzzlement on the two scriptures, Math and Acts.

Accepting Christ is the gate, sounds good to me, those accepting Christ will go through to life.

Here is my original dilemma, those accepting Christ, will go through the gate to life, But the resurrected ones (good and bad) did not have to accept Christ to get life.

Still puzzled KT

Stephen, you are quite right, although I "hate" the wts (Org) I still fall in the trap of their brainwashing, I have to erase 30 years of indoctrination tactics !

I must admit I have not seen Jesus as the "gate" very interesting and thank you for pointing that out.

That must be a help for many others as well.

To me this is a PUZZLE.

The Wts. Say that these ones Math 7 are in a "judgement time"!

How unfortunate they are to be living in that period.

What if they were born, and died in that period ?

Why should they miss out on the forgiveness being applied to the ones who have already died ?

There must be many who have died who are just as bad

was at the hall and all the dubs were talking about was that michael jacksons funeral will serve as a "huge witness to the world".. do you really think the boys in brooklyn will use this as a perfect opportunity do make a "good witness"?.

Now that he is dead, once the funeral hub hub has died down, will the T.V. moguls get their chance to bring out things that they dare not before.

With the following that M .Jackson had, it will be interesting to see how the public react.

As I see it, it depends on what revelations (if any) come out.

Is the Governing Body the Only Channel of Communication between God and Men?

let's take my questions one at a time (since you said i had posted too many on my other thread):.

* can you please explain to me, using only the bible, why anyone should believe that today's governing body of jehovah's witnesses (or the "faithful slave class" of the jehovah's witnesses), is the "sole channel of communication" between god and men?.

* in addition, can you explain why we should believe that christ's parable of the "faithful and discreet slave" was predicting a "class" of anointed christians who would give orders to all other christians, instead of simply teaching that faithful christians will be rewarded by christ when he returns?.

God knew there would be situations where we (both sides of a discussion) would think we are both correct in the way we see scriptures.

That is why he gave us a scripture in Deu.18 v21 And in case you should say in your heart, How shall we KNOW the word that Jehovah has not spoken. 22 When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or COME TRUE, that is the word that Jehovah did NOTspeak.

apostasy, definition,.........to leave ones religion.. if apostasy is regarded as serious in the eyes of the borg.

and it is.. why was my wife, who, before coming a witness some 35 years ago, who was a roman catholic, was not treated then, as she would be treated now, if she (heaven forbid) were to rejoin the clan after having left for app.6years.. back then they did not put her at the back of the hall for a good year, before accepting her, even though she was in principal, apostate.. why the two standards.
