  How did you accept counsel

  was it easy to accept council from elders, i found it extremely hard, the reason being it was always laced with stupidity.. just one of the many many times i had run ins with the elders.. when discussing an important issue that had come up (usually personally), the elder said to me "getting your little green book out again", a reference to my use of the wts code of conduct book (the organisation book) trying to counsel me on the use of wts material.

  how can you start from common ground when you have foolish statements said like that from so called spiritual leaders .

  my dear old mum, when bringing up 4 children after the war, gave us every week a dose of cod liver oil ,her reason was we needed it.. cod liver oil is like counsel.

  COD LIVER OIL is like counsel. Easy to give, not very nice to take.

  The wisdom of my mum was she made my big "brother" take a spoonful as well as the rest of us, I loved the look on his face !!!!

  January 14, 2007; the most bizarre comments I have ever heard at a Hall

  most of you have already scoped out the wt lesson for yesterday that blondie provided, but i'm going to add to it a bit and share the audience comments for the meeting.. i'm also going to share some direct-from-the-gb "new-light" that was revealed by the speaker in his discussion.....ready?.

  so the wife and i are on vacation yesterday and visit a congregation located in western fl or east al; floribama as the natives call it.. the speaker began by telling us that the "happy god" isn't really happy because of the state of the world.

  i forgot to ask him where that fact is found in the bible.

  I admire someone who can use scripture well done, now wonder you left the wts they don’t allow people to do things like that, the reason being is that can’t answer them, such complicated things like scriptures. !!!

  Do you Give to Charities or Donate Time?

  i never knew of any jehovah`s witness to give anything to the community..ever!

  !..they don`t mind taking,but they don`t give back.except in the way of manditory tax`s.....i sometimes drop a dollar or two into a donation can.i take clothes,kitchen items,electrical appliances,food or anything else i`m not using and give it to "charity"..i never let anything usefull go to waste.someone in need,gets it!.....not everyone is in a position to do this and thats ok.....for those who are in a position to help those in need:..do you give to charities or donate time?...outlaw

  What really made you exit the Jw's

  i know its a question that has been asked a thousand times, but what really made you exit the jws .. for instance, my wife and i, having found out about the u.n., 607bce, failed prophecies etc.

  gave all this information to my wifes brother, along with many so called friends.

  we came out but the brother and friends stayed in.. the only reasoning i can put on it, is that we made an effort to find out for ourselves what was the real truth, the others were told and given written evidence - but still didnt make a decision.

  thats the mind boggling effect the wts had on people.. every day normal things, you would question yourself as to weather it had satanic connections with it.. its a wonder how we survived our everyday living?.

  who should be held acountable? footsoldiers or leaders ?

  would our leadership be of better quality if they knew they would be held accountable for their decisions, orders and examples they set to their subordinates?

  or are they confident/cocky they will never have to answer for their mistakes and do things the way they want to do them as a result of this perhaps shortsighted view on things?.

  i mean who is going to police the police so to speak?.

  The leaders if they know scripture and they should, Are responsible for their actions and will have to give an account for themselves.

  James 3 v1..Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, knowing that we shall receive HEAVIER JUDGMENT.

  They will not get away with by saying the usual patter " I was following orders" we have heard that too many times.

  First Piano Lesson Tomorrow!! Need a littel advice.

  for most of my life i've wanted to learn to play the piano and learn to write music.

  my wife got me a yamaha keyboard for christmas.

  i am finally happy to report that i have my first lesson tomorrow morning.

  You go for it, to be able to play an instrument can be very entertaining not just for yourself but others to.

  I was in the org. for thirty years’ always wanted to do what you are talking about, but because of being duped by THEM I never got round to it, now the fingers are not as supple as they should be??
