  many friends i've spoken with are becoming discouraged.

  because of this it's becoming tempting to privately share my views with friends, but i know this is still too dangerous.

  most witnesses in my circle are intelligent free thinkers.

  @kneehighmiah I am seeing the exact same thing in my congregation and nearby ones.

  I have recently been out for meals or other social events with different groups, both locally and away from my own cong.
  I'm finding that the latest teachings are constantly discussed with a laugh and an eye-roll.

  My take on this is that there are very many who only go for social or family reasons, and if there was an easy way out (no repercussions) there would be a large scale exodus tomorrow.

  Meetings are tedious to the point of being a waste of time and effort - not simply my view but those who I speak to and who are actively still 'in'.
  The demo's are childish, as is the study material.

  If the new GB 2.0 format is anything to go by, it's appealing to the less educated while disengaging the long timers.

  if you allow your child to have a part in the nativity play, it's apostacy.

  even if the child just stands there, dressed as a an animal.

  with no lines.. even if you've been inactive for several months.. talk about extremes and emotional blackmail!.

  A real difficult congregation???

  myself and my family have had some odd experiences in our current congregation.

  i have'nt been to meetings since september because of this.. 1. the co told the elder who was studying with my husband that he was doing it as an "academic exercise.

  " my husband is very intelligent, been in the military, has a degree and a masters and a good job.

  To qualify for a carers allowance you must be spending at least 35 hours per week looking after someone.

  That 'someone' must be so disabled that they cannot wash or feed themselves, clothe themselves or cannot walk.

  Seems they are enjoying a decent handout.
  The minimum they can get is £490 per month, going up to a possible maximum of £840 per month.

  And all while actively pioneering. Thank the tax payers.

  let your kingdom comebut when?in his detailed prophecy about the conclusion of this system of things, jesus said: this generation will by no means pass away until all these things happen.

  (read matthew 24:33-35.

  WT says "the first group was on hand in 1914".

  Therefore the first group of anointed overlappers could have been anywhere from 20 - 80 years old by the time 1914 came around.
  This means they could have been born in 1834 if they were 80 in 1914, and could have died around 1974 if they were 20 in 1914.

  The second group of anointed overlappers could have been born in 1954 if they were to be anointed and baptised during the life of the first group of overlappers. If they were born in 1954 and live until they are 80, they will die in 2034.

  So the WT teaching is that the 'generation' Jesus spoke of could stretch from 1834 to 2034. A 200 year old 'generation'.

  i cannot think of one article written for jehovah's witnesses that deals with this important issue.. your retirement.. .

  the governing body makes sure everyone looks after the gb's needs.

  the gb will be moving to their new lakeside estate in 3 years.. what about everyone else below the 8 gb and their wives???.
