  Jehovah's Witnesses: Who Can Baptize?

  if you're a jehovah's witness and you have a child, spouse, or buddy who wants to be baptized, can you baptize them yourself if they request it?

  this is assuming you're a jehovah's witness in good standing.

  and is it common in the church?.

  I have baptized. You would be suprised at how disorganised it all is.

  U cud turn up on the day, stand and say your "yes"s then join the queue.

  our special assembly day is tomorrow, although, i dont live in the states though but still, i wont put the theme of my talk up here; you never can tell, but, i will be mentioning some of the main points i will be highlighting.

  1) how jehovah views secular education.

  2) what should we be doing now with our precious time, considering that we are living at the finishing line of our relay race.. 3) are we heeding to the instructions given by jehovah's bride?'.

  To stand on the platform doesn't have to mean you blindly teach the current thoughts.

  I have had individual publishers phone me at home asking for more info on the items I have given, and I don't think that would happen if I was sat in my seat at every meeting.

  I'm not saying it's easy, it is tough, but at the moment it seems to be the best way I can find for 'legitimately' (in the minds of the cong) teaching the cong how to think about what they are hearing and reading.

  Is it perfect? Certainly not.

  You want to stone me as a hypocrite? Here, let me pass you the first rock.

  Jerusalem above is Jehovah's wife, although as James Woods correctly states, this is never described as a Bride.

  I have lots of family and friends who are in, and I can be of no use to them if I'm out.

  With my talks I tone down the propaganda and even ask questions from the platform to get people thinking: eg. If the book says "Paul was asked by the GB to go to city xyz" I ask the cong, "How do we know that Paul was asked by the GB ...?"

  The resulting blank stares and zero hands offered leads me to say "ok, there's a little homework for you".

  I gave a talk on education recently. I said Bible education and secular education are used for different things. "How pleased we are that we had well educated and qualified architects to design and build our KHall. How grateful are the Bethel families to have degree educated doctors, dentists and lawyers working for them. They can do these things without neglecting their Bible education as well."

  Yes, that was one of my talks.

  An elder told me how much he enjoyed my balanced item.

  if the fds didn't exist until 1919 (which is based on 1914's supposed events), then how was the extremely important date of 1914 arrived at without the slaves involvement?

  That'll be why they misunderstood what was going to happen in 1914 then - makes perfect sense.

  i really didn't realise that words like "row" and "frock" are not common in the us.. glad to see "autumn", "queue", "numpty", "muppet" making a splash over there.. even "chav" and "innit" are being used apparently.. hey all you irish/scottish/welsh/english posters, what other words should our friends over the water be using?.

  wassock, fathead, plonker are three off the top of my head..

  Snares of the Devil - Questioning the motives of those who pioneer

  the wt for today, can't remember exactly what paragraph, stated the dangers of the tongue.

  it went further to mention that we wouldn't want to question the motives of a sister who was appointed in the congregation as a pioneer.

  there was even a picture to add emphasis.. who on earth questions that?

  Pioneer requirement is 840 hrs now, down from 1000. Aux pio is down to 50. This drops to 30 in the memorial season.

  I've pioneered before without putting a form in, just doing the hours.

  Some say that having 'signed up' also serves as a motivator, like it's more of an incentive when the weather's bad.
