Circuit Overseer's Cars - Anybody got the answers?
by The Searcher inatlantis provided a uk branch letter regarding a 3 levy per publisher to pay for the britain branch c.o.s 85 new cars.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/126700001/2-new-boes-watchtower-begging-money-volunteers.
with approximately 120,000 publishers in the uk, that will rake in 360,000. .

FastJehu has described where the branch profits, on the end of contract sales.
The CO submits his mileage to the visited congregation each week and they vote and approve the paying of his fuel and other expenses so he has no motoring related costs to pay for himself.

120,000 UK publishers x £3 = £360,000.
£360,000 x 4 years = £1,440,000. Divided into 85 cars = £17,000 per car.
Vauxhall Astra's start at about £15,500. Then there's the insurance and service costs over 4 years.

The WTBTS and Elders have too many stupid rules!
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini hated ministry book bags.i hated coming out of my home with the book bags looking like i was going to a seminar.so,i starting going to the ministry school and sunday bible meetings holding only the required books for that day in my hand.. for the sunday meetings,i would just carry the song book, bible and watchtower magazine in my hand.
no book bag!
for the ministry school,i would just carry just what necessary for the evening.

Hey, I used a pilots case like that when I was the TMS overseer!
You really do need something that size for all the books you needed in that job!
I once had a sister sit in the back of my car. I told her that I'm not her taxi, and if she wants a lift then she has to sit in the front. Sheesh.

Advice needed on Crisis of Conscience
by cappytan inso, some of you may have seen my thread from yesterday about my wife waking up.. we had further discussion yesterday evening after i sent her the pbs video on the abuse scandals plaguing the watchtower.
she was so furious and pissed off at wt hq.
apparently a close relative of her's was abused by an elder and the only reason he was reproved and removed as an elder was because he confessed.

Or show her from the Elders book where you can be DF'd just for what you think. -

Leave truth - catch AIDS???
by JEMIMAH inwe had a laugh last weekend at our s.a.dthe visiting speaker was from the london bethel (bcm)during the last talk he was trying to encourage the bros not to read non society lit.
the example he uses was of a m/s bro who used to really study his wtwell for a sunday, however he occasionally used secular sources to back up his research.. our bethel speaker in order to prove how wrong this was explained very quickly that because of this secular research, "this brother fell away and caught aids".
the brothers and sisters in the audience where very shocked at the folly of our ex-brother.

I also heard that a different brother falsified his field service report and caught ebola.
And a sister who skipped family worship became pregnant with a demonised gerbil.
And... and...

Child Abuse must be getting out of hand if they're addressing it...
by thedepressedsoul ini'm referring to the video that was uploaded where they finally mentioned the child abuse issue.
we all kinda guessed that if they ever addressed it they'd blame it on the media and apostates.
well, looks like we were spot on.

They won't be able to use quotes like these anymore:
*** w79 4/1 p. 28 Rearing My Sons Without a Husband ***
Later, while working as a clerk at a court, something happened that further convinced me that it couldn’t be accomplished within the Catholic Church. A priest, who had sexually abused several young girls, was provided by the Church with one of the country’s best lawyers, even though pretrial hearings had established his guilt.
*** g91 10/22 p. 28 Watching the World ***
Sternak, who is currently writing a book on pedophilia, charges that dioceses in over 20 states use church donations to pay for lawsuits and out-of-court settlements in cases of priestly sexual abuse of children.
*** g90 9/8 p. 29 Watching the World ***
According to the Star, another lawyer stated that Catholic Church officials, on discovery of child-abuse complaints, have historically kept the priests in the clergy. He said: “Instead of reporting them to the police or booting them out of there like most any other institution, they have, out of loyalty to their own, just moved them around secretly.”At the time these were printed, all JW's would have wagged their fingers at the Catholic Church, "We're so much better!"
Time has proven that the JW organisation is NO better.

The Organization is destined to fade away
by suavojr inthe borg might not fall and disappear, but it's sure heading into the oblivion.
they predicted their future in last week's study.. last week during the cong book study they mentioned the following:.
15. to illustrate: a supertanker or a freight train might be awesome in terms of size and power.

My view is that older ones (40+) who have let the internet pass them by or use it only for emailing, are now the backbone of the congregations.
Young ones see through it but have their parents (in the 40+ age bracket) pressuring them to stay and get baptised.
As the older ones go the numbers will drop.

Lett briefly addresses the child abuse issues in new JW.org video
by Richard_I ini just read about this on the ex-jw subreddit.
link to the video (10m06s).. skip to 7:35 where he says: "another way we can contribute to the oneness - rejecting false stories that are designed to separate us from jehovah's organization.
as an example, think about the apostate-driven lies and 'dishonesties' that jehovah's organization is permissive toward pedophiles.

Lett: "As an example, think about the apostate-driven lies and 'dishonesties' that Jehovah's organization is permissive toward pedophiles."
So Bro Lett, please explain how having a 'two witness' rule is nothing other than a protection for pedophiles?
This rule facilitates them, enables them, and gives them a way to avoid your judicial processes.Does your "Don't tell the congregation there's a pedophile in the congregation" policy assist parents and young ones to protect themselves, or is it more likely to promote the trusting of these known molesters?
It is easy to say you 'abhor' child abuse, but if you meant it you would do more than repeat a slick soundbite, you would demonstrate that you abhor it by driving it out of the congregation and not appointing such men to positions of trust, while hiding their crimes.
The proof that you do, in fact, protect pedophiles is becoming clear in courtrooms all around the world, where decades of hiding these men is now coming back to bite you so hard, you are forced to denounce it publicly on your TV channel.
