  Young baptism a double standard with marriage?

  i remember tons of young ones getting counseled for being too young to date and for marriage.

  the elders said, "marriage is the 2nd biggest dedication of your life (baptism being 1st), at 20 you still don't know who you are or what you want.

  you can't possibly make a decision like that, that young!

  i know there are many posts discussing the may money requesting televangalism...er... broadcast i mean!

  but i wanted to start one where anyone can put what they have heard any non-exjw, non-apostate witnesses say good or bad about the broadcast.

  i don't see how it can't rattle followers... but then again i might be surprised how they can twist things (2+2=5).

  If anyone should have worked it out by now, the GB should have;

  JW's are among the most tight fisted, short changing, payment dodging, low tippers of any group on earth.

  My guess is that, while being mostly at the low end of the education and income scale they have learned this skill from their masters.

  Paint Nite - fun evening and a new hobby

  we (and by 'we', i mean my wife) decided that we should try something new and she, erm, i mean 'we', liked the idea of painting.

  so i enthusiastically (i.e.

  begrudgingly) went along for the night to the "pain nite" event she'd booked us for a couple of weeks ago.. the premise is pretty simple: it's held in a pub or restaurant, all the art supplies are provided, the instructor then walks you through how to reproduce a painting they have chosen for the night and you have a glass of wine or beer, do some painting, have something to eat, have some more wine, more painting, more wine, realize you are drinking the dirty paint water and so on.. here's the site: https://www.paintnite.com/.

  The softness of the painting perfectly suits the tranquility of the subject - it's very dreamy.

  It may not be as detailed as the original Canoe Sunset, but I prefer it - I'd rather have that hanging on my wall.

  up until 1954, the watch tower society said that the symbolism of the memorial loaf included the little flock and that the wine represented their sharing in jesus death.

  (one example: the loaf pictures not jesus fleshly body but his body members, the christian congregation.

  It goes back further than the 1950's!

  according the watchtower study of may 10th, it has been made clear no prophetic meaning should be given to a a scripture or passage unless the bible itself gives clear interpretation of it.

  therefore daniel 7 especially gives it's fulfillment to nebuchadnezzar only.

  no future kingdom or 2520year wait til 1914. no gentile times or "this generation".

  Didn't they flip back to 'Christs congregation' after that 1956 wt, then flop back to 'Christ's literal body' again?

  I like the thought that for 36 years (1919 - 1957) the F&DS didn't understand why they were partaking of the loaf, or even better, that for 77 years (since the first mention of the loaf being the congregation in 1880 - 1957) the anointed didn't properly grasp the meaning of such a special institution.

  At one time, God’s servants felt that... the bread meant "the body of the Christ," the congregation of anointed ones. In time, however, it was appreciated that both reason and Scripture indicate that the bread represents Jesus’ human body.

  If "reason and scripture indicate" this, was the wrong teaching, held for 77 years, unreasonable and unscriptural? If so, was it wise or discreet to teach it?

  So 75% of us are in the 30-60 range, evenly spread out!

  I wonder if the 20-30 bracket is so low because nowadays those who wake up in that age bracket just leave with little need for a forum like this.

  stephen lett about 33 minutes in to may's "liar liar" episode of the monthly worship broadcast said "jehovah's witnesses have the most multilingual speakers of any organization in the world!".

  the catholic church has the most people i thought, do you think he's telling the truth and where is he getting these facts?

  i finally broke down and decided to watch this in order to work on my reverse witnessing skills, lots of ammunition for anyone needing fuel to extinguish their dirty flames of lies!.
