I always wondered about the prophecies that suggest the anointed one will not have his bones broken.
Is it possible to have hands and feet nailed to a lump of wood, and no bones get broken?
recently there have been several claims made regarding prophecies that came true.
i've not personally seen a prophecy that i would consider as having come true.
i would consider the following as the requirements to say something is a prophecy and evaluate whether or not it came true:.
I always wondered about the prophecies that suggest the anointed one will not have his bones broken.
Is it possible to have hands and feet nailed to a lump of wood, and no bones get broken?
go instead to those who sell it, and buy some for yourselves.
matt 25. so .....when someone anointeded claims they need more of an item of value that we have when they already had and used it unwisely is this the correct response?

arguing with my husband again, i asked where is the proof that jesus looked down on earth in 1919 and chose a small group of bible students in america apart from them saying it in their magazines.
also where is the proof that satan and his demons were cast down in 1914 just because first world war started.
neither of these things are in the bible only in their magazines.
berryjerry Jesus won the war in heaven on Oct 2, 1914, according to WTS. WW1 began in July/August.
The FDS was not appointed (newer light) until 1919. Then why did Jesus or Jehovah provide "spiritual food" of this prophecy of 1914 of such critical importance to anyone but the FDS?
Reasoning doesn't get much simpler than this.
Then when you dig deeper, what the WT says they expected in 1914 is not what they expected at all.
They made a prediction, it failed, they retrospectively changed what their prediction was to make it look like they were right.
They messed up a lot of peoples lives with their rubbish, and have never apologised for it.
Remember, both Russell and Rutherford went to their graves teaching that the Bridegroom had already come in 1874 and made king in 1878, so neither were in expectation of him in 1914 and therefore could not have been "happy" if "on arriving he found them watching for his return."
i went on my tablet today and clicked "yes" that i attended the convention (they probably tracked my ip and two elders will show up on my door step).
i scanned through the new brochure on bringing those who have left back.
i noticed that not once they mentioned anyone who was df!
The brochure says to confess your sins to Jehovah, then approach the elders. It is carefully worded this way.
In reality you have also to confess your sins to the elders.
They will make a judgement call on your punishment, and you might just end up disfellowshipped for something you did 40 years ago.
*** w11 8/15 p. 31 par. 15 Pursue Peace ***
If a Christian becomes aware of a serious sin on the part of a fellow believer, he should encourage that one to confess the sin to the elders.
*** g97 10/22 p. 30 From Our Readers *** Confessing Sins
I serve as a congregation elder, and I want to express my appreciation for the article “Young People Ask . . . Should I Confess My Sin?” (January 22, 1997) This article moved a number of youngsters to confess serious transgressions committed some time ago.
just when you thought may's jw dot org video featuring wide-eyed cult lunatic gb lett guilting the masses into giving every last dime they have couldn't be topped, your children will now be fed a guilt-inducing cartoon in which they are guilted into giving every last cent they have to the wt cult.
the wt entitles this one, "give us your money!
even your children are to be shaken down!
I thought the poor were meant to beg from the rich, not the other way around.
(Proverbs 22:16) The one defrauding the poor to increase his wealth and the one giving gifts to the rich will end up in poverty.

outlaw you cracked me up with your hamsters, just my take.

Ding If any other religion had this record of failed predictions, JWs would laugh it to scorn.
*** w14 5/1 p. 3 Some Successes, Many Failures ***
RELIGIOUS LEADERS sometimes predict tragic worldwide events to warn mankind and gather followers. Doomsday prophet Harold Camping and his disciples widely advertised that the earth would be destroyed in 2011. Needless to say, the world is still here.
*** g95 6/22 p. 3 Predictions of the World’s End ***
In more recent times, a Ukraine-based religion called the Great White Brotherhood predicted that the world would end on November 14, 1993. In the U.S.A., a radio evangelist, Harold Camping, said the end of the world would come in September 1994. Obviously, these predictions of dates for the world’s end have been wrong.
But the WT Society are no better:
*** Studies in the Scriptures Vol.2 pg 101 ***
"the "battle of the great day of God Almighty"
(Rev.16:14) which will end in A.D. 1914,
with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced."
*** Revelation Climax chap. 34 p. 246 par. 1 ***
The
John class today also wonders with great wonderment as events unfold in
fulfillment of the prophetic vision. If people of the world could see it, they
would exclaim, 'Incredible!' and the world's rulers would echo, 'Unthinkable!'
But the vision becomes a startling 20th-century reality.

And now we realize that we stand on the threshold of the Kingdom,
and that possibly our next report will not be to Brooklyn, but to Headquarters
beyond the veil.
Oops!!
we've all read, heard and have seen in the videos where jw's and their leaders talk about the "huge" growth that is taking place.
they've talked about how many kh they needed, branches etc... .
our co last visit he mentioned how quickly the organization is speeding up and the huge growth they are seeing.
Maybe there will be a KM item every January a bit like the blood card item.
The item will go something like
- Privilege and a responsibility to contribute
- Small amount if you're poor
- No longer use contribution boxes, we have a better way
- Complicated 'gift aid' arrangement so the elders will speak to each of you to explain it
- The Society uses new technologies, so you should keep up and set up an automatic monthly bank transaction
After the meeting the elders will find those in their group and present them with a donation form to be signed and witnessed.
in the past i have read on this forum that the wt have a say in the "bedroom" of couples.
i thought that was a bit overkill at first, but recently i have come to conclusion that this is true.. the control administered by the wt cooperation on ones sex life is not on only intrusive, its damaging.
they control every aspect of ones thought and action, thus leading most down a path that said corporation wants them to tread.. this path is to get married young, and then eternal loyalty the the organisation.. so how can an organisation force you to get married young?.
hardtobeme I know of an elder that prays before having sex with his wife.
"For what we are about to receive, may the Lord make us truly thankful."

So there's a new Greatest Man book as well. Very polished.
In 324 pages they only make one reference to 1914.

I'm interested in the Caleb video, smashing a vase while playing with his plane.
The lesson he gets from his father is that you mustn't lie because Jehovah doesn't want you to lie.
The lesson should be that you don't lie because it's a moral issue - deceiving people is wrong.
This will train kids to be told what is right and wrong, instead of train them to work out for themselves what is right and wrong.
Reminds me of that illustration where a mother asks her little one where is Jehovah and he points upwards.
One day they get visitors so she shows off her party trick and, in the kitchen, asks her little one where Jehovah is.
He runs into the living room and points at the ceiling fan.
Children should be trained to become independent, responsible adults, not dependents.
