  i had served in a lot of congregations over the years and had seen a lot of crazy goings on, but this particular elder was high up on the "crazy list".

  He's just repeating the introductory paragraph from the Dummy's Guide to CRM's.

  I wouldn't employ someone who can't speak understandably to the customer or who tries to look good using the latest technobabble. Stick that in your CRM guide to looking stupid.

  No More Literal Peaceful Animals in Paradise?

  there is a quote in the new june episode of jw broadcasting, which says isaiah 11:6 applies to people inside the congregations now who have their personalities transformed.. in the 1980's and 1990's, when i attended meetings all the time, i always heard them say this scripture had a literal fulfillment and the animals will be at peace with one another.. here is the scripture:.

  isaiah 11:6 (nwt): the wolf will reside for a while with the lamb, and with the young goat the leopard will lie down, and the calf and the lion and the fattened animal will all be together; and a little boy will lead them.. after hearing the quote, i did a search on jw.org, and i found this statement regarding that scripture:.

  these formerly divided peoples cultivate and display the peaceful Christian spirit toward one another, instead of beastliness. This was prefigured in the following Messianic prophecy:

  fisherman The word guilty is not found in the Civil Jury's verdict. And neither did the verdict say that he was found guilty by the jury. The terms guilt and guilty (you answered yes) are terms that you have selected to describe Civil Court findings but they are not used in any legal way in the Civil Court documents to apply to its findings.

  By this reasoning, the following phrases "do not appear in the Bible" so therefore should not be taught:

  it's expected this will continue to happen.

  the "branch" has not sent the requested number of magazines.

  i started posting on the ex community about five years ago since two of my children have remained under the jw spell.

  back then i had little tangible hope of seeing the downfall of the org.

  i now see evidence of big cracks forming in their hermetic carapace..

  After seeing some of their recent film length videos, I wonder how much it costs to produce one of these.

  They are building new studios so the emphasis is going to be on more films. Even the current Regional Convention has something like 40 video clips dotted throughout.

  I can see the mid week meetings becoming nothing more than a series of brothers introducing videos, then hosting Q&A sessions on them.

  Our hall is asking for money...

  i guess the branch isn't happy with the amount being sent each month since we are way lower than our loan amount.

  we now have to another financial survey to see the max amount that can be given.

  it is "encouraged" for all to be in attendance and give much forethought and consideration to the amount you can donate each month.

  Statue of Marsyas died on a stake?

  so jws have been spreading this picture around claiming it supports the roman torture stake belief.

  this is the statue of marsyas the satyr, a greek mythical creature.

  he lost a challenge to apollo and was flayed.

  Marsyus was the son of Olympus and killed by Apollos, so this is a legend, not a true account.

  Apollos was a Greek before being adopted as Roman, the earliest temple to him is in Athens from about 600BCE

  There were no nails involved, Marsyus was tied.

  He was tied to a tree - I don't know what the original Greek wording is used for 'tree' in the tale.

  His method of execution was by flaying, not the same as the Romans used on Jesus.

  Apart from that, the evidence is quite compelling.
