  Warning: Be Careful!

  sometimes us 'net' savey dudes tend to get a little lax.. we all know and if we don't, we should, that there are people who read these boards who gather "information".. some of it is used against us to "turn us in", and other wise cause us harm.. i've been careful to not reveal my "true" identity hear, as it is a public forum, however, not careful enough.. my picture, and some desciptions i've used in writing my storiy, and describing my whereabouts, though never specific, have led, i believe, to someone learning where i live exactly, and when i would/wouldn't be home so that an act of crime could be commited against myself.. the time period i refer to is from this post:.

  i am never prepared with any jokes in return, so i'm hoping y'all can assist.

  I'm going to make wide, sweeping generalizations to express what I love about black people:

  They are for the most part funny as heck.

  They are usually very down to earth.

  They are more likely to be able to enjoy fun things like music, dancing, good food with lots of passion.

  I find them more able to express emotions, especially affection. My black girlfriends will hug me, hold my hand, put an arm around me more freely than most white girlfriends I've had.

  They have usually suffered more adversity and usually this makes them more compassionate towards other people's sufferings. This last point, in my opinion, is why all of the above also applies to most gay/lesbian people I've met.

  This is all just based on my personal experiences, and I've had white friends that have all the above qualities too.

  I've read most of the books mentioned above and they were extremely helpful. Last month I picked up "The Four Agreements" and was blown away by it's simple yet powerful message. It's message has the "ring of truth", as some parts of the bible did to me, but without all the judgement and guilt attached, a much more empowering and realistic way of living. I highly recommend it.

  Oh now that was funny!!! Cool way to address some of the things white people say to people of color trying to be "nice".

  One thing that drove me crazy when I was selling my house was that every single white person that walked through our house had to comment "Oh my, it's so clean!" with a shocked expression on their face....yes some people of color are clean freaks...just like some white people are. I don't think I'm super sensitive, but when ten people tell you in one day your house is soooo clean...come on, I'm trying to sell it, of course it's gonna be clean.

  i will start.... number 1) two people have to witness a sin before it is reported to the superior authorities....making me the org the last word in all areas.. the most stupid rule gets to post it once the gb has judged it the most stupid?

  No smoking because it causes harm to the body (I agree, it's not good for you)....well neither is eating cheese burgers if you weigh 300 lbs!!! The bible doesn't mention smoking, but it does mention gluttony. I personally know of one elder and one CO that had diabetes and didn't follow the proper diet, they had toes and parts of their feel amputated...doesn't that show lack of appreciation for your body???? The religion is full of obese and/or alcoholic people, but these forms of abusing your body are just ignored. Smoking, on the other hand, is a disfellowshipping offense.

  I just love the WTS's reasoning on being completely honest. They can "decide" if a person has the "right to know" a certain thing. Well, I can honestly say, the elders in my area don't have the right to know a single darn thing about me...hehehe.

  The reading of the "theocratic news" was so boring to sit through. Once Makena got assigned that part and he got bros. and sisters to pretend to be from the country discussed. One black bro. faked an affrican accent, one sister faked a french accent, etc....it was hilarious. That was before the politically correct days, probably wouldn't fly today.

  Oprah's been very honest about what she looks like without make-up...I think her hair and make-up people should win some sort of award...she looks absolutely awful without make-up and her hair done. I'm dying to know what she's done to her body, she must have had every plastic surgery procedure available to tone her body up, but then if she can't afford it who can.
