  Hard to celebrate holidays after leaving the Org.?

  for those of you who grew up in 'the troof', after leaving, did you find it hard or uncomfortable in any way to celebrate holidays and bithdays since you had no ties to them whatsover?

  if so, how did you deal with it?

  I was soooo raised in it. Holidays will never be the same for us. I felt guilty celebrating 

  the first few years, then I tried over-compensating by being extra festive, and finally I just 

  don't care anymore.

   I wish it could be my family instead, but any excuse to call up someone and see them is good.

  Holidays are an excuse, if you've lost touch with old friends and can't make the first move 

  without some kind of reason. Plus, all the stores and streets done up with christmas lights is 

  really beautiful. 

  I try to celebrate others' birthdays mainly because i know it's important to them. If i consider 

  them friends, then i am sincerely glad that they were born, which i always tell them anyway, so 

  a formal celebration doesn't bother me at all.

   It's easy to be alone for the holidays, which is somewhat depressing, but it's also easy to be 

  with others for the holidays, which is somewhat uncomfortable. Which one can you live with?

  it says, "deaden your body members" doesn't say anything about other peoples body members

  the teenage baptism thing is incredible.

  find a kid at his most hormone-riddled. (confused/angry/horny/afraid)

  Drop him in a pool before thousands of strangers and almighty god.

  Tell him that his decision will affect his own salvation, the creator is watching and waiting with baited breath, and after this you'll have to save the world...literally...WHAT! you're not even legally bound by your signature if you're a minor!

  i'm grateful that their rate of suicide isn't nearly as high as that of their mental illness.

  yes...im venting but i didnt want any jws out there to think that they can just walk all over their non or exjw relatives and we will just sit here allowing them to do it again and again and.... "dear ..... well...so you got what you wanted.

  and that's all that matters.

  i knew when you sat here and cried on my bed at losing all those "friends" that you were going to go back.

  grass will take on tremendous importance. nations will rise and fall based on the size of their grasslands. children begging in the streets for just a few blades. until the prophet comes and speaks of a paradisic future when all living creatures will eat dirt.

  you said it...science or otherwise, their own propaganda is their primary reference.. ever see little dub kids writing essays for school with nothing but a stack of bound volumes?

  no wonder they're so proud of their printing presses, like many other cults, their trash could never see the light of day if they didn't print it themselves. i wonder if they've ever had a single publication page that a regular publishing house would print?

  Paths along the way, after the borg, experiences?

  many have just begun their journey since leaving the borg, only recently.

  others have put it far behind them many years ago, even decades they have been away from it.

  i'd just like the general concensus.... nationalism aside ... can anyone explain the difference between osama and samson?

  samson pulled of a suicide attack, while the people were celebrating at a festival, and he became a christian hero!

  i seem to recall the bible mentioning that he got them all, women and children included.

  unc, it's a shame that that story will never find it's way into the awake (watching the world...letters from readers...young people ask?)

  but if they truly wanted to help their brethren in the third world, they would publish the word on scrolls again.. leviticus alone could sit conveniently next to the toilet.
