  Is obesity a disability?

  hi all, just dropping by and throwing out a question or two.. two of our department managers are both very obese and therefore cannot do all the tasks that their positions require of them.

  as a result of that, the peak time workers, those working while the store is most busiest, end of doing a lot of the physical work they leave for us.

  it gets pretty hectic when people are trying to shop and we are getting out ladders and stocking shelves.

  Where is their Love?

  a couple of days ago i ran into a jw at my job at walmart.

  she is a single lady around 50 years old and she looked terrible.

  i asked how she was,(she always talks to me) and she related how she had lost her job and had to work two low paying jobs.

  License Plates in your state

  there are some states like oklahoma that only use one back license plate and other states use two, what do they do where you live?.

  Update on Walmart

  i work wed-sunday, 4pm-9pm, so i went in yesterday and as expected the manager and assistant manager cornered me.

  they were not happy that i had called the district manager and told him about using sales clerks to unload trucks.

  and they said they weren't going to have me unload a truck.. then the manager asked if i could start working until 11pm and when i said no because i have to get home and take care of my mother, he said i will most likely be off the schedule to work at all the assistant manager kept saying i might be used in another department where i could keep my hours, but the manager kept saying don't be surprised if my name isn't on the schedule.. will have to see how this turns out.. i feel at peace right now if this is the way walmart is going to be.

  dropped off my resume and application at a different place.

  i would love it if i got called for an interview tomorrow, and got hired to start in 2 weeks.

  i called bentonville to see if this was wal-mart's policy: hire women to work as sales clerks and then tell them they have to unload trucks.

  it's been a year since i started my job at wal-mart.

  it has been an eye opening experience how they treat their workers.. here is one the ways they cut costs.

  i was hired as a sales clerks which is the lowest paid position.

  Older sisters and long hair- now a no-no?

  ran into a jw yesterday who didn't mind talking to me.

  she is 50+ and wears her hair long, about to the middle of her back.

  she said she's been told by the brothers to cut her hair, that women her age should have short hair styles.

  Sexual Harassment at Work

  just another adventure in my returning to the work force.

  (wal-mart) when i worked almost 2 decades ago, women just put up with whatever was said/done to them.

  i could completely identify with anita hill.. one evening last week, i was in our break room with one young female associate and two young male associates.

  I really don't want or need them for friends anyway

  just dropping in for a short visit.

  the last couple of weeks i have run into quite a few witnesses at wal-mart where i work.

  most of them talk to me, in fact one asked for my help yesterday in picking out some clothes, she had just had a masectomy and needed some new blouses.. it was right after that i ran (almost litereally) into another one this one i usually just see from a distance so didn't know if she saw me or not before this but here we were standing face to face.

  We're always being asked for our SSN

  our little town's public library started a policy where to continue to borrow books we had to provide a copy of our driver's license.

  i refused saying if they wanted to see my dl each time i borrowed some books to prove my id but i wasn't going to have a copy of my dl somewhere in there files where who knows who has access to them.. now they come up with another policy where you have to list your ssn, provide a photograph to be put on file in order to take out books.

  this includes children too.
