she was not trying to BS you. in her head she was looking for a technicality. anything that would JUSTIFY lying to you such as "its ok if i save his life". yes they will lie if it suits them but they are really lying to themselves. and it always condenses to either "im saving this persons life" or "i have jehobos blessing". those 2 excuses will cover almost any circumstance.

untitled
by iknowall558 inim an ex jw, out 3yrs after spending 24yrs of my life in the organisation.
i spend most of my time on fb exposing the org and having conversations with active jws.
i have recently agree to a 'bible study' with a woman, a grandmother, who is a regular pioneer and has only been a jw for 5yrs.

shepherd the flock gem
by outsmartthesystem injust reading through the manual that only elders have access to ..........and.
page 58 - "elders should act promptly when they receive a report of serious wrongdoing so as to safeguard the congregation and provide assistance to the wrongdoer.
neglecting to care for such matters can hinder the flow of jehovah's holy spirit to the congregation.

Can't get work after pioneering
by ekruks ini was just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and can advise me?.
like many here, i was bought up as a jw, with full-time service (bethel, pioneer) the only career option held out in front of me.
i wanted to take a government loan and go to university, but was forced not to, labelled 'materialistic'.. i became a pioneer / window cleaner - round here, almost all pioneer brothers window clean, unless they are retired or have a rich daddy.

you are not alone...do what the WT does. fudge it. dont say "dropout window washer", say "self employeed pastor". get creative. tell them you worked for yourself for some years untill the downturn in the economy. focus on youre patience and ability to manage time. read a book about job interviews. once you are in, all you have to do is show up and make an effort, i found this part easy due to my childhood... being a robot at the hall and whatnot.

Did Jehovah love Job?
by VM44 inif he did, then allowing job to suffer is a strange way to show it!.
job's children were completely expendable, no love to them was shown at all!.

of course he did! a 4000 yr. old book says so. remember when god lost a bet to his subordinate. lol. in context yes he did. as much as the prodigal sons father. imo, the text was a "good hebrew story". a lesson in humility, responsibility, forgiveness.

11-year-old niece was told by JW grandmother that she shouldn't play in band
by keyser soze ini haven't posted here in a while, but i thought this was worth mentioning, and i just wanted to vent about it.. my brother and sister-in-law, who are now divorced, bought my niece a clarinet about a year ago, so she could play in the band at school.
she loves it more than anything in the world.
one day last week, her grandmother found out about this and got all upset about it.

yeah, sounds familiar. if my parents would have let us siblings excercise our talents, the institution would have lost them too.
