Thanks so much for your post...it was excellent, altho the unholy glee expressed by the WTS for the destruction of their 'neighbors' literally turned my stomach. Glad all I've had this morning is some coffee. Why oh why didn't I see it this way for so many years??? How could I just buy these horrors, and swallow them hook, line, and sinker??

As I was reading the quotes, I kept stumbling over words like 'soon' and 'shortly'...my god (or whoever)...I've been listening to this drivel for most of my 35 years!!! How the hell long is SOON?

((((Tina)))))...I came to the conclusion about 4 years ago that I would rather be dead than serve such a god as the witnesses do...I sure as heck don't want to live with these folks and be bored for eternity!! LOL

My Story******Short Version!

i was raised a poor white child in the deep south...ok, florida, where i still am.

i was the typical slightly self righteous witness, miss goody goody, left school at 16 to pioneer, which i did for 4 years, met a guy and married him.

he had 2 kids from a previous marriage and we had 2 kids of our own.

Okay folks, I've had all i can takes, and i cain't takes no more!!! One of my favorite things about this board has been everyone's ability, nay RIGHT to voice their opinions...and, for the most part, not be judged negatively for them. BUT THIS SLANDEROUS SHUNNING OF FRUITCAKE HAS GOT TO STOP!! Am I talking about store-bought fruitcake?? NO!! Am I talking about your old Aunt Martha's fruitcake that has been making the rounds for the last 20 years?? Again I say NO!! Those fruitcakes deserve their bad reputation but people, know this: There exists in this world a recipe for fruitcake that my mom passed down to me and I shall pass down to my daughter...and this fruitcake, THIS FRUITCAKE, is a wonderful cake indeed. It is like no other fruitcake in the world. Dare I say...heavenly? It is light, not dense and wet...it is nutty and fruitful, but does not multiply like those evil fruitcakes...it takes me hours to make it, and until you have tasted it, I BEG of you not to judge it as unworthy. Ahhhh...if you don't believe me, just ask me sis!

BTW Rex, thanks for your concern regarding our sexual health but I believe that most of us are capable of acting responsibly with regards to that area of our lives...when you read posts with sexual innuendo, that does not automatically equate with an immoral lifestyle or an "MTV attitude". We enjoy the freedom we have to express ourselves openly on this board and it is often great fun!

oh my god!!!!.

my wife just took me to a site about jw women being molested and abused and not only wasn't anyone prosecuted, those bastards were allowed to continue raping these innocent children under the protection of the gb.

i was not raised a jw so when i hear something like this it ignites in me an anger that you can not begin to imagine.

Your post brought back to me so many memories of what I too experienced...panic attacks, inability to sleep without nightmares, horrible and vivid flashbacks...the only thing that saved my sanity was getting therapy. Yes, it is terrifying to relive the experiences and to go through the healing process but what many abuse victims do not understand is what you brought out, that they will continue to live with this for the rest of their lives if they don't get help. I opted for dealing with it once and for all and I am so glad that I did. I advocate therapy for any person, man or woman, who has been through childhood molestation...many of us suffer/suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Jan, you know I luv ya but I have to echo BEW in asking where you get your information. In the last 5 years, I have met many women who were sexually abused as children...personally, I think the figures may be HIGHER, not lower. It is so widespread, especially in America...I can only go by my own experiences with the people I've talked to. At any rate, I am certainly capable of differentiating between sexual harrassment and sexual abuse. I also advise caution but remember that many many victims of real abuse are not believed when they finally come forward-this is almost as damaging as the actual abuse itself. I'm curious to know if you have any experience in dealing with this issue.
