the only way to go to heaven is believing that jesus christ is god's son, and that he was sent here to earth to die on the cross for our sins.
if you confess him as lord and savior, then and only then, will you be certain that you are going to heaven.

well heres my story and i'm sticking to it :).
my grandmother became a witness when my mom was a teenager.
my mom became one when i was 4. that would be in 1954. i remember going to the international convention in ny at the yankee stadium and polo grounds.
Hi Aprostate,
Glad to have you here on the board and I look forward to reading the rest of your story. I, too, went to therapy although my witness mom was dead set against it. She, like your mom, believed that my therapist put all kinds of nasty little thoughts into my head...LOL. But I guess I shouldn't laugh, as it's sad really. Funny/ironic how that issue of child abuse/therapy/mother denial rears its ugly head so often.

How do you know if you're going to heaven?
I usually have a good idea it's gonna happen when my sweetie tells me to assume the missionary position
And come on, folks! Take a good look at this pic!! Abaddon, it's obvious, to me anyway!, that you're a MALE hottie!!

i can't believe it but the first thursday of feb marked one full year of freedom for me and my children.. that thursday was the last meeting i ever attended.. we have never looked back and time has just gotten away from me because we are enjoying new experiences and trying to get used to this new life.
i wonder what i should do to celebrate?.

hi, my name is shimmer and i don't want to admit that i'm an alcoholic.
yes i have a "problem" with drinking.
and it seems to be getting progressively worse.
Hi Shimmer,
As has been mentioned, there are many things that could be contributing to your 'problem' with alcohol. AA has a great program that can help people who abuse alcohol. I've been sober for more than 5 years now and I used AA to get and stay that way, altho I'm not an AA nazi! I don't attend meetings anymore, but I can't deny the help that I received from the program. If you'd like, feel free to email me, I'd be happy to talk to you.
I wish you success in figuring out what you need to do.

my son is fifteen years old.
he is a portrait of conflict.
he has a lot of weird, definition-avoidant neurological problems (adhd, ocd, latent tourettes syndrome.... "those" kinds of things.
Hey ((((Laura)))),
I just saw this today...sorry for not responding sooner! There isn't much I can add to what others here have said, but I want you to know that your son's words touched me also.
The worst thing in the world for a mother to endure is her children hurting. The best thing for hurting children, though, is a mother who cares and who will be there for them no matter what and that is what you are doing for your son. I can get bitter and angry and shout "Why" (as Wendy mentioned) to the universe but that rarely makes me feel any better. I can also go through the list of major mistakes I've made with my kids but that doesn't help either. What they need, and what we can give them, is unconditional love and support. My email is open to you anytime, please remember that!!
Love,
Dana

I've tried to be somewhat considerate of you in this discussion, but you make that impossible. I'm deeply distressed by your comments and the total lack of sensitivity you display. I hope you've enjoyed yourself.
