  for jw's the issue has never been who the faithful and wise servant (f&ds) was.

  that is just misdirection and sleight of hand.

  it is plain from the context that this was obviously a rhetorical question meant for self introspection.

  Because they are "washed in the blood" covenant of the Lamb. Matthew 26: 27&28 makes it clear that the only access to the blood that washes us clean is through the New Covenant.

  Doesn't logic tell you that nothing can be washed and cleansed in blood? Blood poured out of a living thing stains, ruins and putrefies.

  Try and step out of the religious indoctrination for a moment and see that this is an illogical statement, weird imagery and a teaching that no loving father would want to believe, that it is right to sacrifice your son - or anyone, for a principle.

  Where is this evil spirit from?

  many believe in the wonderful drama of evolution (life evolving from non-life through flower/fruit beautiful trees and variety of species, reaching homo sapiens and finally returning to non-life) through various processes such as mutation, adaptation, natural selection .... yet there is an evil spirit working against the very spirit of the evolution, producing ironical results in too large a scale.

  to mention a few:.

  4) Very high tolerance for pain. I can't think of many women who could pass the physical rigors of BUDS training, although some of these Cross-Fit girls are amazing

  as a published author on amazon, i'm used to getting negative reviews from time to time.

  it goes with the territory and i'm ok with it.

  writing is an art form, so no art is liked by everyone.

  Trying to fit in with them for five years before baptism and yet says they don't ask perfection from anyone. I said I found the review unhelpful because there's nothing about your book in it! Not sure she even read it but perhaps only wants to have a moan at people who write apostate books. Don't worry about it, you can't help everyone.

  When she said she knew a girl who was a JW when she was at school they seemed reassured that she hadn't heard anything recent about them. Then they went on to the usual loving message about how God will soon purge the earth of wickedness. Think they should remove the rafter from their own eye first.

  That's the weirdest intro I've ever heard. I wonder if this is the official advice from the branch as outlined in the KM and discussed at the meeting for FS.

  According to people on here who are fading the UK JWs know about The Australian Royal Commission and of course there have been stories in the UK press and a recent documentary about child abuse in the religion.

  I suppose if people are constantly throwing it at them when they knock on doors they would be on the defensive.

  people tell me all sorts of different opinions.

  i seem to feel a constant feeling of dread and anxiety.

  the possibility of god existing scares me but so does the possibility of him not.

  PM me too if you want to BlackWolf. I've had depression when I was in my twenties in that religion. I know what it feels like to think about dying and not to want to face another day.

  Blackwolf my daughter is twenty and it's been great that she's been able to make friends at school because she didn't have to grow up in that religion. Did your parents stop you having friends in the 'world'? Or is there anyone you can talk to at school? One friend of my daughter's was very depressed for a while but she's a lot better now and at university. It's a tough time and not helped by your parents' religious views. Hang in there and talk to someone, please.❤️

  Two JWs visited

  i just had two female jws visit, one in their 30s and the other about 20. .

  they invited me to their convention to learn about jesus, they said it is three days long but i don't need to attend every day and she highlighted one session at 11.15am where i could learn about jesus.. i said to her that i wouldn't be interested in attending the convention because i believed what a man called rutherford said about religion being a snare and a racket.

  they wanted to know who this rutherford guy was and after explaining knew who i was talking about.

  I didn't want to argue with these ladies but at the same time I did not want to be preached at, so I didn't labour on any one point.

  You tried to help them and point out the religion's faults using recent doctrine and their own literature. Very impressive and you were very kind.

  Thanks for this. I agree I have an almost religious feeling for nature. Nature, walking in woods, seeing the ocean, being in my garden, these things nourish my spirit. As Oliver Sacks says I too am at home in nature. I don't need anything supernatural and as he says there is a sense of mystery and awe still in wondering what the universe is all about. He starts of saying mankind has always been this way, looking up at the stars and wondering what it's all about and still awe and mystery remain.

  It's the polarisation of ideas that frustrates. Why is it either scientific explanations or mysterious, awesome things? Just because something is as yet unexplained we need not dismiss it as supernatural or superstition. Data should be examined not dismissed because it doesn't fit. Anything else is confirmation bias.
