Totally depends on the type of family you have. If it is a loving, close family you might have a chance of getting them out by remaining PIMO for a while and taking it slowly. Some families are mentally healthy apart from the kids being raised in a cult, so as they become adults you might get them out. Just don't try for too long.

Who helps the most - POMO or PIMO
by Ray Frankz ini was recentely talking to my girl who is also awaken about if there were any chance of the org to lose at least its power and authority since i believe to expect a destruction of the org is unreal i came to the conclusion that the best way to help jws is by means of the pimos.. if we take the own jw logic (the world is bad but we need to live among them in order to bring them to our side) i think that if a good part of the people who left when found ttatt stayed in they we could have much more awaken people today.
when you are out it gets extremely hard to gain the trust of any jehovah's witness to begin with.
every totalitarian government had to fight rebels among them.. im not being numb to the causes of anyone who decided to leave.

Are we losing our way a bit at JWN?
by nicolaou infirstly, i want to be crystal clear how grateful i am for jwn.
it's been my place of support for over seventeen years and it's the first online space i direct anyone to if they are taking steps out of the cult.
i am not bashing jwn - i love this place and appreciate the hard work and expense simon puts in to keep it going.

What's wrong with just ignoring a thread or individual you don't like? Sometimes people start expressing ideas and I think he or she is a total turd. Sometimes it's depressing so I go live in the real world for a while.
If they're a turd it's their problem, I'm glad I don't have to live with them. This is how I deal with people in my real life so why worry about people online I can't even see. They're probably some ten ton git with BO who has a sad life.

JWs made me hate school
by StephaneLaliberte inyesterday, i had an epiphany.
i realized that the jw religion made my experience in school awful and i hated school because of this.. yesterday, my kids had an activity where the whole school was out at the park, playing baseball, soccer, other pic-nic games and even swimming pools.
during the day, i had conversations with the teachers and saw the kids out, playing having fun.

Yes, I hated school too, but then who wouldn't hate having to sit outside religious assembly and sit on your own in another classroom while they had the Christmas party! My daughter loved school but I didn't have to do anything special just let her join in! She made friends, they came for tea, birthday parties and sleepovers. It's not rocket science!
Now she has two degrees and a great job. She loves learning. Bloody cult, I was still afraid of school when I had to go up and see her teachers, but she loved them. Result for her and me!

Life seemed so simple when we ...
by eyeuse2badub inis it me or do you share my thoughts about life seeming so simple when were--------------kids and when we were----------------die-hard jw’s?.
as a kid we trusted our parents explicitly.
their word was truth and we believed everything they said.

I agree, this is the reason religions still exist because we now have answers about reality but some people prefer the simple life, let others control your life, tell you how it is. Be a child and you don't have to think or worry about anything. Jesus is quoted as saying just that.

What he's achieved with North Korea is amazing but who better to persuade a narcissistic psychopath than one of the same.
Those scientists who write about psychopathy say psychopaths, and here I'm referring to those born with a biologically different amygdala in their brain who don't feel guilt or remorse, hold many high positions in government and large corporations.
Perhaps there is a place for them as long as they are kept in check by those who do possess a conscience.

I'm on Chrome 63 and I haven't been able to see the dates for a couple of weeks. I've tried updating my chrome app but I can't, possibly because my iPad is about four years old. I didn't say anything because if it was just me and everyone else is okay ........

Blood Componenets Are The Issue
by Lee Elder inin a new "must read" article, a former jw hlc committee chairman explains why blood components are the real issue, and the terrible price paid to learn this important lesson.. http://ajwrb.org/components-of-blood-are-the-issue.

were hoping that by now the entire blood doctrine would have become a personal conscience matter
They can't can they because of all the children, pregnant mothers and many more that have already died. How can you tell people who've lost kids because they did what the cult said that now it's not a divine command!

That's brilliant news, congratulations to your son. Good luck for his Masters, my daughter finished hers last September. So good we don't have to deny them an education and a real life isn't it?

Suggestions for horror/supernatural movies
by Addison0998 inhey guys, so now that i’m pretty much atheist and i’m not scared of demons or supernatural things, or bring them into my house by watching movies or reading books about them lol, i defenitly want to watch a few scary movies.
i’ve always loved scary movies, but as witness, you don’t get to watch many since they need to be pg-13 and have no spiritism in it lol.
does anyone have any suggestions?
