It doesn't prove your point at all. You stated we have literally no idea about oppression. You only need to be able to read or even watch movies.

Ladies First
by snugglebunny ini know a lady who says she feels demeaned if a man walks on the outside or opens a door for her or stands aside to let her pass.
i just think it's good manners.
being a gentleman has nothing to do with equality in my opinion..

Western feminists literally have no idea about genuine oppression.
Yes we do, we can read history books

I held a door open on Tuesday at work for a man becasue he was carrying a tray of coffee through for his colleagues. He was very grateful. Yesterday a man at work held a door for me becasue I was carrying a coffee and a pile of books. I said that was good timing and thanked him.
Don't make judgements that all women are a certain way now or that they hate courtesy from men and other women. Just as I don't judge all men to be sexist just because a few are. Billions of people is too large a sample to judge without knowledge.
I'm a feminist and believe in equal rights but I don't hate men, on the contrary I loved one for twenty-seven years.

This Forum. Has it changed? For the better or for the worse? Or not a at all?
by ThomasCovenant inwhen i post i try to imagine that i am at a social gathering or sometimes in someone's house as a dinner guest.
that way it is easier to follow the community guidelines and posting rules set out on the site at the bottom of the page.
i wouldn't want to make a fool of myself in public.

Just a few posters seem to have become very angry and want to yell and swear at everyone. I get the impression it's not the particular topic that's annoyed them but perhaps things have suddenly gone wrong in their lives because they are spewing vitriol on all threads.
The intelligent, thoughtful, compassionate people are still around and they post occasionally but they seem to have retreated in the face of all the anger around. I miss them.
I expect to be abused because of this post and called a snowflake or other names but actually I don't care anymore, I have a life beyond the forum.

Abraham .... some of the things he was told to do did not seem reasonable from a human standpoint. Are we willing and ready to do the same? We may soon be asked to do the same!
This is to prepare those who have yet to have their KH taken off them and sold from under them after they saved and built it themselves.

But haven`t the Catholics and the Protestants had their own laws and judgement`s ,consequences etc, apart from the secular law of the land for Centuries ? That they have imposed on society.
Yes Smiddy and they are still imposing them on society. That's why Ireland has only just passed a law allowing abortion, fifty-one years after the UK because of the Catholic Church and why assisted dying is still illegal here.

This is a good idea Stuck. They are bound to think we hate and reject them if they've previously shunned us but for many of us this isn't the case.
I texted my sister about her health in the last few months so she will have my mobile number just in case she wants to text me about doubts and to make it clear I don't hate her.
The religon paints us as angry and full of hate for those still in but for most of us this isn't true and I like your idea to let our old aqaintances know this. We can be their sanctuary to run to.

I've just received my email from Dignity in Dying as I'm on their mailing list. It says in part:-
'Assisted dying laws in other countries have only ever been changed where medical bodies have taken a more balanced stance. By doing so, they are then able to engage in the detail of debate rather than hiding behind a strict policy of opposition.
The RCP should be applauded for taking a brave step in the face of a vociferous opposition that has tried every trick in the book to discredit and de-rail this process.
A small group of doctors with long-standing links to pro-life organisations even tried to bring a legal case against the RCP, but I’m delighted to say that their case was thrown out by the High Court this morning.' -

I'm in favour of assisted dying for the terminally ill. How can we let humans suffer more that terminally ill dogs and cats whom we help to die if they have zero quality of life or are in agony?
The RCP are being rather pathetic and still refusing to make a definite stand on this issue. Of course the legislation will be difficult and we need to make it iron clad to prevent abuses but let's get on with it!
Surely the religious right with their anachronistic idea of the sacredness of life are causing this delay. This brings an appalling amount of suffering to the dying.
Two different people have told me their loved ones died of cancer but the morphine wasn't enough, they died in pain.
My mother died of heart failure in hospital. While still conscious she started screaming because of the pain in her legs. The doctor told us the dying heart can't pump the blood up from the legs and it starts to gather there causing acute pain, her legs turned purple. I'm so grateful, her doctor gave her enough morphine to stop the pain. She did say I can't give her any more or it will kill her!
But even though she lost consciousness she suddenly sat straight up at one point and we feared she would wake up properly. Thankfully she died shortly after that, but what if she hadn't would they have let her scream until she died? They could give her no more morphine. However I'm very grateful for her skilled doctor.

Is it OK to teach your children that Homosexuality is wrong?
by Thomasdam ini know a few family's who have left the cult but send their kids to a religious school because of the public schools teaching many times that homosexuality is ok. the bible is clear that its a sin.
there is no just love each other and its all ok. i don't believe in the bible or any religion.
i have a niece who came out as gay and i told her i don't care.

Some say that being gay is not natural or beneficial biologically for humankind because it doesn't produce children.
Look at all the children that are produced in this world by straight couples without any concern for contraception because of religious or cultural beliefs. Children that don't have enough to eat, fresh water to drink or access to education.
I'm not talking about just Africa or India either. On the local authority housing estate I grew up on in the UK one family had thirteen children, they were all thin and dirty. How is being able to naturally produce children by the dozen that you can't afford to feed a good thing?
People have a weird idea of what is good and natural. Disease is natural, earthquakes are natural. We have tried to made this world a decent place to live for everyone often by fighting what is so-called natural.
