  Talked to an elder

  i am at home now, my family knows that i am out and it's somewhat ok.. during the time i spent here, i had the interesting pleasure of talking to an elder who i've known since childhood.

  just for the background, he always regretted not going to university and there where also issues with military service.

  but this discussion was kind of, well, interesting.

  this weeks meeting, there was one talk about the need for an organisation, taken from the reasoning book.. the usual stuff, how would preaching be possible wiithout org, or the command (?

  Is Pacifism Ethical?

  in another thread about things the watchtower got right two posters have expressd agreement with the fact that the wt refuses to take part in war.. i don't want to derail that thrread so what's your thoughts on pacifism?.

  personally i think there are times that killing your enemies is regrettably the lesser of two evils.. .

  Jgnat: JWS can and do register as conscientious objectors on religious grounds, but their application for such status may be denied. If they refuse service after denied application, they can and have been arrested and jailed (in the US circa 1970).

  1 year later i decide to become an unbaptized publisher and take steps toward dedicating myself to jehovah.

  i'm a single working mother of 2 with what i will call a very "colored" past.
