  Past couple years of being awake might be catching up with me

  i was a little too honest with a super close friend who is one of the most important people in my life.

  my mistake.

  she talked to an elder about my doubts...i know she had my best interests in mind and i hold nothing against her.

  listen up noonehome.

  you need to take charge of this situation NOW. Stop being so emotional, or your whole fing life is going to get flushed down the toilet just cause you love everyone and trust them so much blah blah blah.

  You have two important priorities right now:

  1. Graduate college, celebrate what you have accomplished.

  2. Get a job.

  Wow look at that. You could get a job. It might even be that you HAVE TO MOVE for your job.

  Moving away doesnt mean you lose everyone. Are you still living at home. Have you lived in the same house all your life. Why are you being so dramatic. It wouldnt have to be a BIG move across the country.

  Listen to the two options you have made for yourself:

  1. Move away, lose everyone, be a busy JW

  2. Stay with people who just love you conditionally and be a busy JW

  your worst fear:

  3. Be Dfed for apostasy cause you are a blabbermouth

  I would just like to point out to you how limited your vision of your future is.

  Did it ever occur to you that you might find a job you really like , make friends who really care for you and could care less what you think about God, and have a fulfilling life OUTSIDE WTBTS without having to put any of that on the table. It is no ones business but yours.

  By the way, try this: IMAGINE YOURSELF HAPPY. IMAGINE THE LIFE YOU WANT.

  Contrary to what you have been taught, it is entirely possible.

  Dont be a fool. Button up, make a plan. I dont care if you study with those elders or not. It sounds like if you do you wont be able to keep your newly developed critical thinking skills in check. I see this playing out as a total disaster unless you wise up to the danger zone you have put yourself in and act with some sense of strategy.

  I wish I could slap some sense into you!

  just to share a little about me:.

  i was recently appointed an elder, about 6 months ago now, and that is exactly two years after my awakenning, but funny that the appointment came also about 2 years after i had completely lost all faith in god and had been leading a full time anti-jw life .

  makes you wonder the role of the holy spirit in the entire nomination or appointment process.. .

  If you are honest and this is not a joke, then thanks for your honesty. Whatever the opinions of the members of this forum, being honest about your motivation and intentions will provide others with perspective on their own local elder body. I am sure you are not alone and many use the elder position to their best interests are you are doing.

  The danger comes when you believe you are the only clever one or are in any way unique.

  Do you believe there will be "Mass Suicides" within the BAC/JW community?

  as a "therapist trainee"(still have to take my license test) i worry about all of the religious people out there who might commit suicide if the rapture/armaggeddon does not materialize.

  what if the bible is proven to be "a big fairy tale" will born again christians(bac) and jws kill themself?

  i worry about some of my older jw relatives that have waited for armaggeddon for 50 years and are still waiting.

  Vidiot and a Bible Student:

  Well, obviously babies had no say in the matter at Jonestown. From what I have researched about Jonestown, no one was deceived, they knew the Kool Aid was poisoned. Sure, there is coercion in any social situation, but it came down to drinking or not drinking, and a few who refused to drink fled. Heavens Gate I admit I am less informed of.

  My point is that religious groups do not commit suicide when all the members realize their belief system is false. Suicide happens as the ultimate act of faith.

  That point is in response to the OPs statement:

  When religious people mass suicide, they do it so they dont have to accept that their belief system is false. Jonestown and Heavens Gate all died as true believers.

  professor kevin barrett is not exactly the most trusted commentator you could find, but that, of course, just maybe because, there are people who want his views on 9/11 to be ignored.. anyway he's advanced a theory that the missing malaysian airlines plane was remotely hi-jacked.

  in the absence of other evidence, it just maybe what happened.

  to consider whether it did happen, we need to ask why it may have been hijacked?

  Need advice, really wanna play COD

  well my ps3 is downstairs because i had no idea how good games looked on tvs that weren't older than you are and i've run into a problem.

  my mum doesn't know that i have "bad" games like cod, gta 5, legend of zelda and final fantasy (yeah ik last two aren't that bad but loads of religious stuff and magic) and it's getting harder to keep it a secret.. i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how i should go about this.

  should i just wait a while and slowly introduce the idea to my mum that i play these games or should i just come out and play them and act like it'a nothing?.

  Hi Duvan Muvan,

  I have been reading all your posts. I guess I was in a similar situation to you not so long ago, and, I have been thinking of what I might tell 15 year old me. Even if this post is really about video games, allow me to give you some of my hard earned wisdom:

  1) dont get anyone pregnant. Always use protection.

  2) Get a job NOW and start saving money. Get a bank account. Never tell anyone how much you have. Dont spend it.

  3) Get the best grades you possibly can so you can get into a good college. Think about college.

  4) If you love video games so much, you should know there are a number of well-paying professions related to video games. You could make the visuals, build the code, create the character and use the 3D modeling software to build them. Cool!

  5) in 3 years you can play all the COD you want. It will go by faster than you think.

  6) If you are really going to stick by your promise to attend meetings and assemblies, bring a notebook and write down your ideas instead of taking notes.

  7) learn how to do every practical thing you can, like car repair, basic home maintanence, etc.

  WTWizard is one of my favorite posters here. He has a consistently unique point of view and often makes me LOL.

  Because of him I have begun to care more about batteries, flashlights, and silver.

  I think those bothered by the mocking of JWs still identify as JWs.

  Lets be honest, nothing is funnier than a group of people taking themselves so seriously and trying that hard, while wearing horribly outdated, old fashioned clothing. Sabotaging ones own self interests week after week while investing in a pyramid scheme, or passively allowing child molestations and even child sacrifice in the guise of the blood issue! Add in a dash of pyramidology, some beasts from the book of revelation, and anti-masturbation video in sign language and you have all the fixings for mockery of the highest order.

  i was just thinking about how humans being imperfect and satan's influence was the root of everything bad that anyone has ever done.

  well i know that apparently everyone is vulnerable which got me thinking about what "bad" things people have done while they were a jw.
