threatening to kickout a child (under 18) over ornaments is abuse.

Parents focusing attention on a teenager's piercings, etc, are not parenting.

Be supportive and available.

JW's think they can say, "Not in my house." Legally, if they are parents and guardians, they are responsible for the welfare of the child.

My brother became homeless once kicked out and has never recovered.

My Dad thought he was teaching him to "Be a man."

Kicking out is for serious drug habits or ongoing theft/ vandalism. Not f@#ing pierced ears that she will get tired of eventually.

I think JW parents threaten to kick out because they basically beleive they are imitating God who would definitely lovingly annihilate you if you disobey and lovingly kicked out Adam and Eve and lovingly will destroy 6.9 billion people.

BS.

Also because they realize they have no real power using fear tactics to control and have obedience.

Love is way more difficult than saying my way or the highway.

Getting some more help

i have talked before about what happened to me as a jw.

i was baptized at 12 and two years later i was in a judicial committee for sexual immorality after having an inappropriate relationship with an older woman.. it was handled just like any other kh would have handled it.

after a humiliating interrogation by my elder father in front of my mother, he dropped the dime on me.

Wow I really relate to your story. Thank you for sharing.

My teenage years were similarly filled with inappropriate love interests due to everything being so restricted.

In the end I came out much more open to all options than I would have had my parent allowed me to have an age appropriate opposite sex friend.

Similarly, I am coming to terms with the fact that being born in is the equivalent of abuse.

Its seriously disgusting how these old men with their too tight pants sit around asking CHILDREN details about their sexual activity.

Is that illegal? That should be the next lawsuit!

Also, I think your parents, sadly, are not unique in totally letting you down when you needed them most.

Not that thats any consolation.

Thanks! Actually I am initiate in an Eastern esoteric tradition and this stuff is basically identical. No plans to practice Enochian. One weird religion is enough.

Maybe you have a thread about this already. Let me qualify this by saying I am not interested in conspiracy theories or definitive statements about what does and does not exist. I am interested in seeing if there are overlaps between two systems. I am particularly interested in what the watchtowers are in Enochian magic and how they work, beyond the symbology.

Someone had posted something about invoking Jehovah in Enochian magic but I lost track of it. Please explain.

Can't get work after pioneering

i was just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and can advise me?.

like many here, i was bought up as a jw, with full-time service (bethel, pioneer) the only career option held out in front of me.

i wanted to take a government loan and go to university, but was forced not to, labelled 'materialistic'.. i became a pioneer / window cleaner - round here, almost all pioneer brothers window clean, unless they are retired or have a rich daddy.

I lived w/ my JW aunt and uncle for two years while starting college. At that moment- I had no other option. Sure they might not have "approved" or been supportive of my going to school- they may have tried to "encourage" me - but, putting up w/ that is easy when you know its short term. If you need to- explain how having a better income will enable you to do more in the ministry, even if for now you must cut back as a temporary sacrifice. Do whatever you need to go to school- don't wait- it won't get any easier.

I think the thing for you is to make the shift from being so honest with others and instead be honest with yourself- knowing you need to keep a spark alive hide it and protect it so they can't snuff it out. Then you can gather the momentum to blast out of their orbit like a rocket ship.

I sympathize with your financial situation- but I have seen that it does not change- it will not improve as you age and education or job training is the only way to improve your prospects. While I agree that religious volunteer activites can have a place on a resume- they are no substitute for career experience.

This reminds me: as a teenager when we had breaks for coffee and donut I never had any money in my wallet. What I did have were food stamps ( gov't aid for food for people living in poverty, which now come as cards but used to come as paper notes) which I was so embarassed to use- I would ask if we could stop at a grocery store and dash in to buy a couple pieces of fruit hoping no one would walk up and see me using them.

The soceity will not take care of you for pioneering, you have to take care of yourself.

i thought these were pretty surprising comments in the consolation magazine in 1946, just a few months after the full horrors of the holocaust emerged, under the heading "are the jews meek?":.

"there is no evidence in the scriptures that the jews as a people are meek.

demon posession?

my gradmother used to tell me about a catholic icon at her aunt's house which was demon possesed and once blinked at her.

I personally have never had any problem starting fires- but then again I don't burn books.
