  perhaps this is a unusual way for me to advertise something that doesnt even exist yet, but in a few months there is going to be an extraordinary opportunity for the entire ex-jw online community to become involved in the most sophisticated form of online participation ever.. imagine sitting back in your chair and clicking rapidly through a series of screens of a fictional world when you suddenly stop in amazement.

  you are now looking at the world headquarters of jehovahs witnesses and when you zoom inside you find rich graphics, that include everything from floor tiles to furniture but instead of seeing jws pushing papers and cleaning toilets you find that hundreds of apostates run the place!

  As a jw, i was told the awake, etc was giving me a college level education. Reading of the awake for 30 yrs enables me to maintain myself in a small apt, while painting houses owned by people who got a college education the nonjw way. Hmmmm

  Of course, the kinder, gentler, more spiritual ideologies have usually succumbed to the less tolerant, more aggressive, materialistic. Not always, but many, many times. Islam and christianity are both example of this. In northern canada, the inuit displaced a taller, gentler race. Maybe that is evolution.

  New a good term instead of born-again

  i have been associated with many religious groups over the years, mainly the catholics, jehovah's witnesses, and various evangelical born-again groups.. i often use the term born-again on this forum.

  i normally mean born-again in reference to evangelical born-again groups, "fundies", etc.. a couple of posters here have told me that they find the way i used the term born-again offensive.

  they rightly tell me that most christians believe that they are born-again...hence, my comments offend them.. so, folks, can we come up with a more accurate term?

  I attended pentacostalist types of churches for about 2 yrs. They do many of the same things that wiccans do. Pentles call it spiritual warfare: Binding satan and his many demons that are supposedly hindering their lives, cutting ley lines, curses and oathes of their ancestors, coming against satan (cursing him), praying for riches and success, etc, etc. Wiccans do some of these same things, although they generally aren't as aggressive. They don't interfere w others' rights. They are more concerned w their own lives, whereas christians want to conquer every last territory and province, removing the religious freedoms of pagans and atheists.

  These two groups do many similar processes and cerimonies. The nonchristians can recognize that fact. Christians however, will state that their own actions are at the behest and supported by christ, whereas those of others are satanic. I can only laugh at the silliness of the exclusivist claims.

  I think it's a little premature to bank wholeheartedly in this so called plan. For all you know, all those killed there could already be in heaven, looking down w mild amusement at our silly little arguements. For if they are, god had nothing to do w it, as spirits of persons whose bodies die automatically go to heavenly realms. At least that is one way it can be looked at.

  I think moses' father in law, jethro, his wifes father was a midianite priest. *checking aide book* Hmmm. Yes he was! Was moses wiping out the roots of parts of his own religion? Kinda like when the catholic church outlawed all other christian flavors (gnostic, essenian, ebionite) when its own gained ascendency.

  I think that most jws and many fundy christians suppress many natural feelings/desires. This, by itself produces a lot of tension. When they observe their excomrades freely flaunting those very same traits that they are not allowed to partake in, they feel extreme resentment. It comes out as judgementalism and anger/hate. Also our freedom in these areas threatens the legitamacy of their rigid course. As a defence, they lash out to stop us, or at least attempt to ellicit some guilt or fear by threats of divine punishment.

  What can i say, except, nyah nyah.
