The old testement is full of his atrocitiies/genicides, not just against non jews, also against his own people. He even lied to his own people. His stated will is that one day the whole world will have to pay taxes to parastical jews in jerusalem, or else he won't let it rain on them.
You've got to stop justifying those archaic massacres/injustices/cruelties, and look at them in todays spiritual light. The ot is one of the worst sources of anti-gentile hate ever.

The wt suppresses all innovation of members. This kills the human spirit. The free human spirit wants to explore and create. Once innovation within an org is suppressed, the org starts to die. It may take a long while. You can see this exemplified by comparing the robust health of this crazy but free board w h2o, its suppressive guide lines and subsequent atrofication.
The same applies to countries. The us became such a great country largely because of freedom of ideas. As it progresses toward a police state, innovation will be crushed, then everything else follows: the big slow motion tailspin. But i believe the human spirit will triumph, in the end.

I didn't go. My aunt would have said if my jw mother went, so she didn't. I guess i have been out of my worldly relatives' loop for so long, that i havn't yet inquired, but i will. I am planning to visit them next summer. They are serious fundy christian, since generations. I will have to be careful, or it will turn cold and uncomfortable. Thanks for asking.
