A static blimp (or barrage balloon), moored nearby the stadium and high enough for many in the audience to see (Ideally behind the speaker's stand), with JWFacts.com emblazoned on it could be very powerful in all seriousness.

Coming soon to a District Convention near you, it's the Aposto-Blimp!
by Skimmer incoming soon to a district convention near you, it's the aposto-blimp!.
be on the lookout for the latest technology for telling the truth about the truth: a five meter long, helium filled blimp which will cruise about the hapless fools at a district convention.
made from tear-resistant mylar with propellors powered by lightweight lithium power cells, the blimp will be guided by a small computer with gps assistance and will follow its flight path in and around the stadium for hours at a time.

Kicking the "Gay Habit" at the IC
by breakfast of champions inheard from a reliable source that this was part of friday's program.
they even interviewed a "former gay man" who "kicked the gay habit".. evidently kicking the "gay habit" is difficult, not unlike quitting smoking or avoiding sugary snacks.
the persons who related this to me found the whole thing to be laughable at best, but honestly seemed quite disturbed by it (which is good!

That kind of crap from the WTS actually makes me feel sick. Next my mum and others will be saying, well it worked for him, gays can be happy if they rely on Jehovah and stick with his organisation and their spiritual "paradise".

I get what you mean about the inconsistency. I can kind of understand that some alcohol in moderation is supposed to be good for you in some ways. Moderate red wine is supposed to be good for the heart, though any amount increases cancer risk. Ok so the jury's out...BUT.....
What about sunbathing and sunbeds? - as in lying out in the sun all day on a beach in Greece or going to a salon regularly? The amount of JW sun worshippers is unbelievable! I have read secular articles that say the cancer risk of lying in the sun is greater than the risk from smoking. Ok I'm a big hypocrite here. I have been the world's worst sun worshipper and my doctor tells me I should probably expect to get skin cancer as a result - but it always struck me as odd that I could deliberately put my health at great risk like that and no one would raise an eye brow - but have one cigarette and you'll get caught in a rugby scrum of elders pouncing on you and your congregation friends shaking their heads at how worldly and rebellious you are...
I hope that's not hijacking the thread. I think it's kind of on the same lines as the OP. But basically, I totally get where you're coming from...

I went to nudist beaches quite a few times while still in - UK, Mykonos, various places. Ironically never been to one since i've been out. I do occasionally worry about what damage the sunburn did during those years tho haha

"Most straight men will venture a VERY quick and furtive glance at the other guy's 'equipment' if truth be told. Of course in gay bars, that rule is somewhat relaxed....(I know from personal experience)."
hmm the gay bars I ve been in tend to be the opposite. It's like nobody dare look at anybody because that's what everybody expects people to do in a gay bar toilet. The only exception to this rule is if a guy is blatantly pleasuring himself. Then of course he wants everyone to look at his equipment.

mark sewella former jehovah's witness elder today denied massaging half-naked schoolgirls because he knew his church would "cover up" the allegations due to his position.. devoted churchgoer mark sewell rejected suggestions his seniority in the barry congregation meant allegations of child abuse would be "swept under the carpet".. the businessman, 53, denies 10 historic sex charges against girls and women in a period spanning more than eight years.. during cross-examination by prosecutor sarah waters it was put to the defendant that he "took the risk" of massaging topless schoolgirls because he believed his standing in the church would spare him from allegations of wrongdoing.. ms waters said: "what i'm suggesting, mr sewell, is that it was a cover-up and no-one was allowed to talk about it.".

I'm vain. I admit it. I don't bother with designer clothes anymore tho. I used to be a real clothes snob but now as long as it's stylish and looks good on me I don't care about the label. Primark here I come...
i do spend way more than I should in Boots though. face scrubs, moisturisers, cologne - yep can't get enough of it.

What Makes A Good Friend?
by krejames ini just came back from vacation with my sister who is in her mid 40s and is an active jw, regular pioneer of many years.
while away, during one of our conversations, it bacame clear to me that my sister is lonely and doesn't have a social life.
she's too old to be included in the plans of the younger generation and, as she is not married, doesn't get included in the "marrieds" set.

Laika - yes you are so right. I think JWs must be some of the most age-ist people out there. now I am out of there I've got friends of all age groups! Lol
stuck in a rut - yes I get ya. But don't you know true friendship is conditional friendship? Our spiritual family, unlike a real family, isn't always there for us? I'm sure I read that in a WT somewhere so it must be true ;)
Kate: one of my best friends in my old cong was a sister who sounds just like you. We had some great laughs. She always had her house full of different people from the cong. Very hospitable. But when she went through her crisis and eventually left the witnesses it's amazing how judgmental everyone became - including me to an extent. Thankfully we have reconnected and even though she now lives on the other side of the world our friendship has survived. I hope something similar might happen with your friend.
