All I know is that of the congregations I was with, the CO would have received little if anything in the way of a “green handshake”. Nobody had the proverbial “two bob to rub together”, let alone to lavish the Circuit Overseer with gifts of cash.

30 years ago, when my family and I first went to live in a malaria-prone area, we religiously took as a prophylactic the recommended weekly dosage of two Chloroquine tablets. From that experience, I would not exactly describe either Chloroquine or its more soluble and slightly less toxic variant, Hydroxychloroquine, as "candy".
Yuk !!!
Even back then, Chloroquine was rapidly losing its effectiveness as an anti-malarial medicine. So much so that after about 12 months, we abandoned the practice of taking regular doses of the stuff (particularly after the Director of Malaria Control himself stated that the best protection against the disease was to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes).
There are now very, very few malaria-affected parts of the world left in which Chloroquine / Hydroxychloroquine is still effective. This is particularly so where the deadly Falciparum strain of the parasite is prevalent (as it is across the whole continent of Africa). It is not surprising, then, that by the mid-2000s (if not earlier), most African countries had abandoned the use of Chloroquine as either the primary treatment for, or preventative of, malaria.
- See the following extract from the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Trends in Antimalarial Drug Use in Africa (nih.gov)
It is therefore highly doubtful if the use of either Chloroquine or Hydroxychloroquine is still widespread in Africa - despite claims to the contrary by the Australian businessman Clive Palmer.
In fact, it is highly unlikely that either of those drugs have been in widespread use in Africa for almost 15 years now.

Is Bible prophecy now starting to come true regarding the prelude to the great tribulation?
by Disillusioned JW inis bible prophecy now starting to come true regarding a prelude to the great tribulation?.
full disclosure: i still don't believe in the bible's claims about the existence of the supernatural, even of jehovah god (i'm an atheist and a scientific/philosophical naturalist), but i am asking this question because recent events are starting to seem (to me) to fit well the description of some prophecies in the bible.
consider the following.. several hours ago (on 11-26-2021) as i was about to enter a local fred meyer store of my city (in suburb or small city in the metro area of a large city) a person i know told me that a moment earlier a person left the store in a hurry with a cart load up with unpaid merchandise (i think i was told it was groceries but i don't remember that for sure).

If there ever was a period in history which matched the ride of the four horsemen in the Bible’s Book of Revelation, I would have thought it surely would have been the 14th Century.
That time saw climate change, famine, then a pandemic (the bubonic plague) which wiped out half the population of Europe - after firstly causing a disastrous loss of life across Asia.

That bloody lot always expect that you can somehow have things both ways.
ie. Insist all young persons condemn themselves to a life of poverty by forgoing any sort of an education, and instead enter the “Full Time Service” - yet, at the same time, expect the rank and file have cash to hand over whenever asked
( Whether that be to build a new Kingdom Hall, or to support a former Circuit Overseer who has been “kicked to the curb”.)
To use the vernacular of where I come from, “They ought to be shot with a ball of their own $h#t”

by SouthCentral ini was on a jw page recently and some dubs were openly predicting the end of the world in a year.
mike flynn (trump advisor) mentioned having one religion in america and the dubs went crazy.
someone even mentioned 1975 on the thread.. it seems to have since been deleted; but there were about 50 comments before i couldn't find it again.

The "Trinity" is not Biblical.
by Revealed insimple.. you cannot find the word there (or many of the comical variations such as: a triune godhead, the triunity, co-equal god beings, godhead, a hypostaic union, divine essences, divine natures, a god-the-son, a god-the-ghost, hypostasis, homoousios, perichoresis , a godman, omnipresence, incarnation, a god who is a sacred mystery, a god 'in three persons', dual natures, a reincarnate god, a first person of the trinity, a second person of the trinity, a third person of the trinity, godness, a tri-unity or a multipersonal god), or any of the so-mentioned aspects.. jehovah identified himself (not 'themselves") as on one god, as did jesus and all the prophets.
.
so, come, let us know of the simple twists of the clergy!.

Four years back, after an accident in which my lower left leg got smashed up, some well meaning young fellows prayed over it, asking for a miracle cure. I can tell you this, nothing happened!
