  if this is true then how long should it take?

  as jw saw it, wt compared timing to within a generation using 70 ad as a parallel.

  i guess you could say jesus was the first christian, since he was the christ.

  and as the first christian, jesus spoke more about hell that any other biblical figure.

  but, he is also the figure that said that he didn't come to condemn the world, but to save it.

  Discontinued about the time the Elder arrangement came in.

  10 hours, one “bible study”, 12 magazines per month, so many books and so many “back calls” - or else you received The Pineapple.

  the twickenham post made me think of this.

  i have a few jw family members on facebook and being summertime, their pics of the convention have shown up in my fb feed.

  along with their comments about "i wished it would never end" or "what a glorious weekend".

  The time I most looked forward to was when the bloody thing was over and done with!

  (Apart from the 1973 Divine Victory International Assembly, when I fell in love for the very first time. That did add a bit of gloss to it).

  The violation of Belgian neutrality provided Britain with its official excuse for entering WWI. However, would it really have kept out of that conflict had things been otherwise?

  Ever since the Jameson raid on the Transvaal (1895), British relationships with Germany had been deteriorating. These were irrevocably damaged by the 2nd Boer War (1899-1902) - a war in which Germany was always on the threshold of joining in as a belligerent. Afterwards, King Edward VII (“Edward The Peacemaker”) was able to shore up relations with France. That led to the Entente Cordiale with “The Old Enemy”.

  However, anti-British feeling in Germany was by then so strong that he had no success in repairing damaged relationships with Germany. By 1914 (if not earlier) there was widespread feeling in Germany that armed conflict with Britain was in fact inevitable.

  Also, being then the world’s dominant naval power, it is highly unlikely that Britain would have tolerated German possession of the channel ports.

  atheist scientists now agree that "elasmotherium sibiricu" lived with humans.

  all they had to do was read their bible to know that.

  job 39:9 “will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?”.

  King James himself believed that there was such a creature, having in his possession a horn which was said to be that of a unicorn. That may have influenced the KJV's use of the word!

  Their “missionaries” at least give the appearance of genuinely trying to reach people.

  This contrasts greatly with what you see from most JWs, who very much convey the impression of people who are just going through the motions. (And all that matters is that column on the Monthly Report form labelled “Hours”.
