how many former jehovahs witnesses are there from merseyside

hi guys i posted on this forum a couple of months ago to find out how many ex jws there are from my region, i am interested to find out how many have left the witnesses and perhaps start a support group for ex jws in our area

Verses that bothered you as a JW

we find god's name "jehovah" so many times in the old testament, but not at all in the new testament.

jesus is called a "mighty god" in the bible.

jesus is also called "father".

From the perspective of one of those born again pain in the butts that has had over a dozen elders running from his house stumbling over themselves and their words, let me give you a few that I have used that seem to get to the people I gave them too.

Gen 1:26

And God said, Let us make man in our image

A JW of 35 years admitted to me that the WT's reasoning behind these scriptures never made sense to her, she just put it down to her own lack of understanding rather than them being wrong.. amazing....

The Thomas "my Lord and my God" is good, but its better from the KIT, ( I think someone mentioned this already??) "The Lord of me and the God of me".

I have now taken to showing the dub in front of me that less than 20% of the NT is actually for them according to the WTBTS, it can only be that much as they are not anointed, so...

a) can they please highlight for me in my bible ( I got half a dozen spare NWT's that I use for the occasion) the ones that are for them.

b) ask them if they show the new convert these verses to save them reading things that have nothing to do with them...??

Funnily, this is usually about the time that they are leaving.. either that or when I show them Isaiah 43:10: "You are my witnesses," says the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am He. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. .... but then ask if Jehovah created the 'mighty god' Jesus?

You are of course going to post a full price list before bartering with anyone I hope?? I mean one wouldn't want to think that a Studies Volume 7 or a Seola might be sold for a few dollars, ... would one... expecially seeing as some of the older books are worth $1000's???? LOL

I trade on ebay and it's crazy what some of the stuff is going for right now.. but you can get some very good deals.

'In Union' Help please

ok, i know that this topic must be in the archives somewhere, but i can't find it so here i am asking for help.. i have a web page that i have set up to show the 53+ times that the wt have mistranslated "in you" and "in me" to say "in union with ".. http://www.agapeacceptance.co.uk/union.htm.

i have both kit's so i don't need some one to tell me that's the way to show the error, i can do that.

however, most jw's just tell you that the translation committee knew what they were doing when they made all 53 into "in union with", and they fob you off.. does anyone know of a web page that looks at this in more detail and especially has reputable greek scholars comment on what they have done.. many thanks for any help.

Hi all SAMMY here, and man was I shocked to see this on here.

Been YONKS since I got myself on here and was I surprised to see this post. I really do suggest that you have a look at this web page, and if you find any major mistakes please let me know, it took me 3 hours of scanning and checking the OCR, and I am not convinced that I got all the mistakes sorted.

As for the web site, well we ain't never going to be freeminds or CARM, or any where else like it.. but we try. Lots of the books are now scanned and may I take this oportunity to say that I am willing to scan anything you need should we have it. I have all 7 studies books from about 1907-1914 and all 7 from about 1923-27. I have all of Rutherfords rainbow, plus 98% of his booklets. Anything from there on in to the present day we have. I can not do whole books but will do the odd page.... and yeh I know there are the CD's out there, but we ain't all got $40 a crack to spend have we.

Hope all is well and sorry that the last time I was here I seemed to get lost... things here at home have been dificult and we would apreciate all prayers from my wife, severe (IBS and FIBRO)

Wanted to add a little

We run a chat room on paltalk exposing the lies of the WT.. on there too are JW chat rooms. During the program, and for about 2 hours after it they were no where to be seen, no where.

When they did surface, they under took a stricter than usual rule. ANYONE who evern mentioned this program was bounced from the room, and eventually someone came out with the comment that I am sure most of us where expecting... and I quote,

"listen, we know the apostates lie, we know that Jehovah will protect us all.. All we have to do is keep bouncing these oposers and liers and we will be fine, we have nothing to fear, NONE OF US HAVE DONE ANYTHING WRONG".

From the dozens of EX JWs that we have talked to tonight, it is obvious that they have been deeply touched and many feel that this could be the final straw for some of the weaker JW's about.... we will seeGBU all

JW's using apostate literature?

ok, hi and firstly if you get to see this more than once i apologise, but then i don't have a lot of choice, i need help quickly if possible.. i have a friend that i have been witnessing to for the past 6 years.. she has been in the witnesses for 25 years and yet god is moving.

an example of this, and it is by no means the best one, is that this week she put through my door two christian tracts that had been put together by sgm international ( http://www.infocomp.torun.pl/sgm/ ) .

the ones she gave me where not ones containing doctrinal issues, but basic gospel ones.. .

My question is do you have any idea which Watch Tower or Awake its in?

I have the 1997 CD rom of all the publications, but I can not find anything.

I think I may have been around too many JW's cause here comes one of those, "I can't believe I just asked that" sort of questions that you should be able to work our for yourself....

RE; The Great Crowd... is there any point anyone that is not going to bow down to the 'theocratic order' trying to join this thing?

I'm on quite a few of the Yahoo groups, mainly just to get to know a few people and wait for those who are about to jump out of the boat into spiritual uncertainty, NOT in any way to tell them which way to go next, only to tell them they are loved.

Well this place looks ok but I don't think that anyone expressing any kinds of doubt AT ALL would last more than one post, if that?
