WTB&T$ just cannot let any opportunity go by without demonizing getting an education and a well paying job instead of being an illiterate, financially strapped leech on society.

How Are Ex Elders Treated In The Congregation?
by minimus inare they pretty much left alone?
are they respected for their having been elders at one time?
are they treated like crap?.
-

Most ex-elders are treated the way they themselves used to treat others while being elders
In the case of my father he lived by this manner of dealing with people *** it-2 p. 706 Proverbs, Book of *** "Mercy and truth are what he desires; these are more valuable than sacrifice." When he was booted off the body of elders for spending too much time taking care of my dying mother he instantly became persona non grata to the rest of the elders and the brown nosing punks. Too many in the congregation continued leaning on him for support and a kind hearing ear and "words spoken at the right time". The "little" men running the congregation were just too intimidated and hated being shown up for the unloving, judgemental, harsh Pharisees they were.

Do I Sit or Stand For The Anthem Now!?!?
by thedepressedsoul inmy conscience is so split now!.
if i sit, i am taking part in a political movement and getting involved in satan's system of things!.
if i stand, i am showing that i agree with satan's system and i am worshiping idols.. in all seriousness, witnesses loved this one because it made them "stand out".

On the other hand...
We seven popes in Warwick just LOVE to split hairs, and keep you poor, sorry sheep as confused as possible with constantly shifting explanations of what the Bible really teaches. Trust us, would we ever mislead you?

Why do I have this cartoon sequence in my head where a truck screeches up to a congregation group, unloads a generator, Big Screen TV, and DVD player, hooks it up quickly, plays the message, then, just as quickly, dis-assembles it all, loads up the truck, and screeches off....
Because just exactly like those cartoon characters the love, compassion, and empathy from the Warwick compound towards any R&F JDubya is make believe.

Protect Your Family??
by Tech49 inhere is an article in the current study copy of the wt.
tell me your thoughts and i will tell you mine.!
this is a topic that i am very sensitive about, as i could never see not protecting my family, even if that meant using whatever means at hand to do so!

*** g 6/08 p. 11 When Is Self-Defense Justified? ***
On the other hand, what if a person’s life is threatened by an assailant? A law that God gave to ancient Israel sheds light on this. If a thief was caught in the daytime and was killed, the assailant would be charged with murder. This was evidently because thievery did not carry the death penalty and the thief could have been identified and brought to justice. However, if an intruder was fatally struck at night, the householder could be exonerated because it would be difficult for him to see what the intruder was doing and to ascertain the intentions of the intruder. The householder could reasonably conclude that his family was under threat of harm and take defensive action.—Exodus 22:2, 3.
The Bible thus indicates that a person may defend himself or his family if physically assaulted. He may ward off blows, restrain the attacker, or even strike a blow to stun or incapacitate him. The intention would be to neutralize the aggression or stop the attack. This being the case, if the aggressor was seriously harmed or killed in such a situation, his death would be accidental and not deliberate. So was this article BS? Or was this new QFR BS? Oh I KNOW...I KNOW...PICK ME. It's ALL BS!
I legally carry a firearm, and will not hesitate to use it to protect myself or family against any vicious animal, even IF that animal walks on two legs!

....weapons are best kept unloaded, perhaps even disassembled, and safely locked away.
A huge WTF statement. An unloaded, taken down, locked up firearm is....a paperweight! Another flip-flop by WT. While they always have been pretty well against firearms, with no genuinely logical reason, they continually flip-flop on whether or not someone is "permitted' to defend themselves or their family. I guess when you live in a multi-million dollar secured compound it is easy to spout the BS that this answer contains.
I'd face God on judgement day with my head held high and eyes straight ahead if I were to have to use violent means including the use of a firearm to protect myself or family! Better to ask forgiveness than permission. And better to be judged by twelve than carried by six! When seconds count, the police are only minutes away!

Oh The Irony
by FedUpJW inso i sat and suffered through the clam tonight.. everything was pretty much as dull, repetitious, and simple-minded as i have come to expect, but i was really struck by the mind-numbing idiotic comments made during the part about shunning family.. then came the book study (no real bible use) loaded with self-congratulatory b.s about how wt never has, and never will beg, solicit, or ask for money.
i could feel myself beginning to channel the old tasmanian devil cartoon character as i listened to that garbage while remembering the jdubya tv shows about how more money was going out than coming in and give more.
but finally came the most ironic (to me) part of the entire meeting and i could not help bursting out in a loud belly laugh that got me many dirty looks and heavy frowns.

So I sat and suffered through the CLAM tonight.
Everything was pretty much as dull, repetitious, and simple-minded as I have come to expect, but I was really struck by the mind-numbing idiotic comments made during the part about shunning family.

But finally came the most ironic (to me) part of the entire meeting and I could not help bursting out in a loud belly laugh that got me many dirty looks and heavy frowns. They read a letter from the GB asking for $14.00 per member (suggested) and passed a "resolution" to pay that amount. I of course made it obvious that my arms were firmly folded across my chest so there would be no mistake what my feelings were.
Afterwards I asked someone who is still talking to me if they thought anyone else would get the irony of 30 minutes spent saying JW's do not ask for money followed by them asking for more money. I saw a light go off in their eyes. Maybe....just maybe?

2018 Annual Meeting
by EyesOpenHeartBroken indoes anybody have any word on the 2018 annual meeting?
i assume something new will be rolled out, since they are having all the congregations do special weekend streaming.. my guess is that there will be some major "new light" concerning the memorial, partaking, anointed, etc.
i would guess that they will say all baptized believers should partake.

Not real sure about anything "new", but the GB want to make sure as many Dubs as possible can hear their self-glorification and praise of the new Warwick compound. And not to be forgotten, is that with the extreme pressure everyone is putting on themselves and others in the congregations to "come watch the dedication of Warwick, and the Annual Meeting" as if ones very life depended on this OPTIONAL meeting , there will be literally millions of people to hear the continued solicitation to give MORE MONEY.
