  Repercussions for sexual immorality

  hello, i was hoping to get some clarification about how people are disciplined for immorality as a jw.

  i became involved with a co-worker a few years ago, she was fairly aggressive and she initiated a physical relationship very quickly.

  at the time i did not know she was married and a jw.

  Meetings disrupted due to zoom outage

  zoom been down in parts of the uk today so church services and meeting been disrupted.. a news paper published some comments and jokes about it .

  "looks like the church broke the internet".

  Midweek Meeting looooooooong prayers.

  one thing that aggravates me is long concluding prayers, especially at the midweek meeting.

  you work all day, rush home, grab a quick bite, dress up in meeting clothes.

  then, go to the meeting.

  obviously not, but he could do so by banning an even greater killer - tobacco.

  smoking has been identified as the single greatest cause of preventable illness and premature death in all 4 nations of the u.k. .

  annually, in scotland approximately 10,000 die, in wales, 5000, and in n.i.

  I think there’s an argument for actually encouraging smoking.
  

  I agree, as a matter of fact I think that smoking should be compulsory. And a minimum amount of tobacco used per day should be imposed. The benefits of population control outweighs any drawbacks.

  Weekly Meeting Importance Being Reduced - Your Thoughts?

  i am pimo, but now have 40+ years of being a jw as i was raised in a 3rd generation family of witnesses and continue to fake my way through things - fading as i can.. for the vast majority of my time as a jw, the meetings were the central focus for all jws to get teaching, association, information and so on.

  nothing was more important than being at the meetings!

  over the last 20 years starting with the elimination of the weekly book study in homes and continuing down to today - my opinion is that the value/purpose of the weekly meetings continues to be diluted or minimized.

  I think they've got the JWs afraid of their shadow with COVID to go beyond their back door.

  Oh heck yeah. I am still being called every day to "check how you are doing". And when I say I am doing fine I was at the grocer to pick up a few items, or I went to the hardware store for some needed household items; and no, I saw no one else wearing masks and face shields, Tyvek clothes and disposable gloves and I was not either then I get the lecture every single call about how I must listen and obey "The Branch" because they are giving us Gee-HO'-Vuh's instruction for the COVID-19.

  Yep, got a couple of those where I live, although I don't have to deal with them much anymore after I began my fade.

  Always throwing "The Slave" into every comment somehow, as if that gives their comment special status or extra weight. Prayers that repeat the name Gee-HO'-Vuh over, and over, and over, so many times you get sick of hearing it. Always "humble bragging" trying to give the outward appearance of humility all the while becoming puffed up with pride.

  some jws believe they have the truth.

  they alone understand god, jehovah.

  they are very happy being jehovah’s witnesses.👍👌..... many others realize what they have given up for jehovah, to belong to the jehovah’s witness religion.

  today is the 75th anniversary of the end of wii in europe.

  they were a special generation who were literally prepared to give their lives rather than submit to fascism.

  Millions paid the ultimate price. They died so we could live in freedom.

  And sadly today millions are willingly and eagerly throwing away those very same freedoms, under the guise of the greater good for health! And all the while screaming that anyone who does not buy the hype, fear, paranoia, and panic is selfish.

  coming from gods appointed channel and wifelike organization to his special people and possession is cut and paste cdc guidelines and what other organizations and govt.

  programs those in financial need can look to for help?

  Yeah, I have heard the elders yapping along on that ZOOM app about how thankful they are that "The Slave" has provided, "just the food we need in these critical times of disease and danger,"; and that by, "isolating ourselves and staying away from public, and not going to each others homes if they are not immediate family we show that we are obedient to Gee-HO'-Vuh."

  Now I wonder if it was Gee-HO'-Vuh that gave the guidelines to the CDC and other government agencies?
