Just some a-hole that votes everything down because it makes them feel "special" or somehow superior to others.

I would absolutely love to see how the diehard old-timers who were largely responsible for my coming in would react to what the religion is now.
Ive mentioned, probably too many times here, what my mother said in her final lucid months about Da Troof.
She emphatically stated, "If Jehovah's Witnesses were when I got baptized, what they are today, I NEVER would have become one!"
And in his final months before dying, ignored by the entire congregation he once did his best to genuinely shepherd as an elder, my father said, "Today's Jehovah's Witness has "love" on their lips, but not none in their hearts!"

Vaccine Passports: THIS Is Where It Leads
by Simon inthis is a good watch.. i agree with it 100% - the people pushing for everyone having to carry id are the ones that have shown over and over again that they can't be trusted with people's information.
the tech companies want it because they would be able to link online tracking and information logging with people's real-world activities.
the government wants it because they would have control over people and movement.. both should be chilling to anyone with half a brain.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uggvgke0n8o.

Seems to be many issues with the vaccines and difficult to find list of all the deaths on the CDC site (or was if they were reported as vac-related)
There is a reason why it is nearly impossible to find unbiased information about BOTH sides of the issue. And it isn't because the powers-that-be have YOUR best interests at heart.

One elder told me that Jehovah's people are a happy people and that if I'm not happy, I must be doing something wrong with my spiritual routine.
A few decades ago I heard pretty well the same garbage come spewing out of an elders pie-hole. The difference was that he accused me of committing a secret sin that was impeding holy spirit as the reason I was feeling depressed, and that to feel better I must confess that sin to the elders. Needless to say I didn't say a word to those wolves in sheep's clothing!

Derek Chauvin - The Right to a Fair Trial
by Simon inanyone following the derek chauvin trial?.
if you are actually following it, not just listening to the media, you will likely realize that there is a huge gap between what is going on in court and what is being reported in the media.. if the trial was fair, i think he should be acquitted.
there is plenty of reasonable doubt about the cause of death (his dealer doesn't want to testify because he could be guilty of 3rd degree murder for selling him a fatal amount of fentanyl) and even doubt over whether the officer even had his knee on the guys neck or did anything counter to what they were meant to do as per policy.. but is it fair?

Aw. . .isn't abeljohn cute?
Sounds like some people I know, the minute they are confronted face-to-face though they fold up like a dead flower. At least they sound tough on the interwebs. I guess frustrated JW's have to do something to make themselves feel relevant. Thanks for the laugh!

Do You Tip At Eateries?
by minimus inif you go to a restaurant, do you tip and typically how much?
if you were given a 90 minute time frame to eat at a restaurant, would that restriction limit your tipping to the waitress or waiter?.
also if you order a coffee and donut and pick it up, do you contribute to the “tip jar” that’s on the counter?

T.I.P's?
Oh, the money that the employer does not pay their employees, and expects the patrons to cover? My sister worked for a restaurant , and that is exactly what happened. She was paid minimum wage, and as she made tips the amount of the tip was deducted from minimum wage. Example: If minimum wage was $7.50 (U.S.) per hour and she made $5.00 in tips her paycheck showed $2.50 per hour for that hour. If she made $8.00 in tips her paycheck showed zero for the hour and the amount of tips as the tips they were.
I give a T.I.P. on the level of service for that reason. Server gives crap service they get a crap tip, if any. Good service = a good TIP. GREAT service = a GREAT tip.
And no, I do not shive-a-git if you think I am or accuse me of being a cheapskate, or any other choice names.

JW's getting creative (or desperate) to preach during the pandemic ....
by EdenOne inso, there's this social game called second life.. there one creates an avatar and can lead a parallel life.
there's a bit of everything, from general environments to adult.
it can be a hub for creative people, it can be a magnet for creeps.

by Overrated inmy dad and i would work on different "pioneers" vehicles in our kingdumb hell.
and to nuts and bolts they where real "hoopties" anytime ready for the crusher.
both my dad and i would work with our skills to keep their cars running since they don't have a real job to get a real working car.

And these people always wanted top mechanical work for cheap.
Oh heck yeah! I was and am the sort of person who if something does not work or is broke I do my best to find out why. What is it supposed to do or not do? Then find out how to make it do or not do what it should. An eldurr in the congregation where I live had some issues with a vehicle. He knew I had done the same exact repair on my vehicle, so asked if I would do the work on his. Feeling generous I said I would. A $2,000.00 repair job IF the dealer had done it cost him less than $200.00 for parts. At least I got a "Thank you until you're better paid," and the expectation that I was now his "go to" mechanic for free work, even to the point of having to pay for his repair parts.
I put an end to that, in what was perhaps a less than kind way. I would "troubleshoot" his vehicle, suggest a repair that for some odd reason never fixed the issue, then conveniently be out of town so he had to take it to the dealer if he wanted to drive anywhere.
Now my regular answer when he wonders what might be wrong with his vehicle is that I don't kNOw, heavy on the NO part.
