  WT to Resume In-Person Conventions 2023

  "breaking news | 2023 conventions.

  we are pleased to announce that the governing body has decided that, jehovah willing, we will resume in-person regional conventions in 2023. branches will now begin scheduling dates and selecting venues.

  we pray for jehovah’s rich blessing to be with all those involved in the planning.".

  the other day, i chatted to an elderly woman and her daughter who was about 45-50. total strangers.. we were discussing covid when the daughter said, "my neighbor studies with jw's, and the jw's told her 3 months before the virus started, that they had to stop going from door to door because something was coming.".

  i've never heard anything like this before - have you?.

  in the newest governing body update loesche recounts the experience of a jw who was pleased with the results of resuming in-person ministry.

  he said, 'i thought people would be scared of the virus, but they were welcoming!

  ' - 🤣 um maybe he doesn't get out much because kingdom halls are one of the few places left except hospitals that require masks.

  Just heard through the grapevine in my area that several JW's have recently come down with the latest variant. More transmissible, less dangerous. But the word is that everyone must now submit to all the GB mandated "guidelines" again, yet in all their fear of the virus they are still going ahead with in person meetings. SMDH

  i know there was a leak a few weeks back, but this really does seem to have come out of the blue.. the anomaly was the original decision.

  it clearly had no basis in law or the constitution, and was a flimsy, ridiculous ruling.

  I mean, let's be real here, a 1 or 2 year old has no viability if the mother didn't care for it, feed and clothe it, or nurture it.

  Let's take the next step on this road. A person is paralyzed from the neck down in an accident and can no longer survive completely on their own without a caregiver to feed them, change their diaper, a machine to breathe for them and so on, or an elderly person suffering from advanced dementia who needless round the clock care to live? How about we just use them for "target practice", after all they are an inconvenience to the young and healthy aren't they?

  okay, so here's a follow-up to my post a while back regarding the society tearing down the pyramid monument.

  they cleared the area and this is what they did.

  notice ... nothing about the watchtower connected to it, just slabs of cheap concrete..

  But if you do get drunk, get a designated driver, or take an uber/ taxi, then that's a workable solution too. Likewise, if you insist on fucking around, get birth control or the morning after pill (also a workable solution).

  I agree 100%. However both those choices would require a person to exercise a fair amount of intelligent, self-responsibility, something that those who drink and drive without regard for possible consequences and those who f--k around like animals with no regard for consequences are woefully lacking.

  Since urban areas with large populations tend to be more politically liberal than areas with much smaller populations (such as rural areas), political conservatives get more representation in the US Senate than would otherwise be the case.

  Really? So I was taught the wrong thing in school civics and government classes? Here all along I thought I was taught correctly that the REPRESENTATIVES from the states being proportioned to population, and the SENATORS being equal from every state was intended to give EQUAL voice to the less populated states. Otherwise Californicate and Nyark would control the entire country. Of course that is exactly what the anti-American left's agenda is!

  clearly something, or someone other than the mother and her uterus, can feed the baby.

  So by your own words that baby is incapable of independent life. Your "mother and her uterus" argument falls as flat as a welfare persons old car tire!
