Kingdumb songs, will they someday make the top 25 Religious Hymns???

amazing grace have been around since 1779, how great thou art 1885,holy holy holy 1826, be thou my vision (ireland) 6th century, all creatures of god and king (italy)1225. so you think one day we will hear a kingdumb song playing over the radio.

you would think surely jehovah want the world to be familiar with his hymns.... maybe they have instructed the rf to only sing their songs in the kh, only for special folks..

yes, i know what "counsel" means, but it clearly has an esoteric meaning.

in the academy award winning bunker video series, the noble brother brown admits he didn't handle it well when elder ben (who was a junior elder...uh, yes, that's right) gave him counsel about a talk he'd given.

Common practice? No. It is an unwritten requirement in order to be a "good" JDub. You must run around looking for any and all excuses to jump down the throat of your fellow "brother" or "sister" with unsolicited, unwarranted, unwanted, needless advice in the ever present agenda of control.

Special Talk During the Meeting Today About the Bad Press in Canada

i was invited to a congregation in ontario, canada today and as soon as the meeting opened the brother conducting the meeting said there was a very important statement coming from the borg.

this talk replaced the two last parts of "living as a christian" section.

he started reading a letter from the borg about how much they loved us.

I heard about this letter too. It would seem that some on other sites are completely deluded and brainwashed into believing nothing bad could ever happen in the bOrg. This is just one of the comments I recently "mined".

I have taken to asking why it is Satan and media bias when it brings to light pedophiles in the JDubs, and God doing when it is the same issue with the Catholic church? They just get the deer in the headlights look and change the subject.

I had to ask. The kingdumb hell where I still have to go for now has no video cameras...yet. They have just gouged the sheep for more money to buy three TV's though to replace the new screen and projector that replaced the new computer that repla...oh hell, you get the idea. LOL

here i was operating under the impression that showing kindness to strangers was something that one did unselfishly.

And the WT conductor just made this statement, "Next weeks lesson will go along with this weeks quite nicely. "Maintain Your Spiritual Heath While in a Foreign Field. I am sure it will motivate many of us to want to move to another area. Then we can experience the kindness shown to a stranger at a new KH."

My thought? Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, IDIOT!

I feel pretty foolish after reading the drivel in today's WT. Here I was operating under the impression that showing kindness to strangers was something that one did unselfishly. Boy was I wrong! Here are just a few of the statements about how to show kindness to strangers that are going to be slurped up today.

"...warm welcome at the Kingdom Hall."

"Jehovah is equally concerned about people... who attend meetings..."

"...loving concern for fellow believers from other lands..."

"...neighbors, fellow workers, schoolmates make derogatory remarks about those of another background."

"We can show kindness...by warmly greeting them at the Kingdom Hall."

"To help others feel at home in the congregation...why not accept them just the way they are?"

"We rejoice that Jehovah in his...kindness...has allowed people from all backgrounds...to associate with us."

So there we have it. Kindness is shown by getting people in the door of the KH. No one else is kind but rather they always speak derogatorily of others. Is there any wonder that I am FedUp?

in my work, i rely upon google for quick answers on definition (denotation), pronunciation (audio), etymology, shades of meaning (connotation), etc.. what i really mean is, do you use an actual unabridged websters, the one you get a hernia lifting?

i ask because, last night, i was tired of fighting with my two ailing computers and decided to pull the big book off the shelf.

it was great, hearkening back to olden times -- childhood -- when i read real books and periodicals and wrote unknown words into a notepad (the paper sort) and pored over old noah's offerings.. your thoughts?.

Yes, hard copy. I enjoy words. What a certain word means and why it is used instead of some other word. Where it came from, as others have mentioned. Books in general are a favorite pastime.

has anybody else noticed that almost all the jdubs are super arrogant?

i mean even from just the basic ones to especially the elders and the overseers omg.

they act like they are so high and mighty that you should just worship them.

if you want to converse with someone at a KH about 'moving up' they are very quick to dodge and show you your errors and why it just can't be done.

Or they give you the old worn out, "Just keep doing what you're doing." Well after years of that sh-t I finally got FedUp and told them to take a flying leap!

Sheeplike?? A Christian Requirement or WT Controlling mechanism?

when we were practising witnesses we heard a lot about the need to be "sheeplike" , having a sheeplike attitude and personality .

a typical comment might be :.

"lasting peace & happiness just ahead" 2009 p 30.

Sheep are not work animals.
Sheep are not pets.
Sheep may be eaten.
Sheep may be fleeced.

Having had the unfortunate job of working with sheep I can also say that sheep, in general, are stupid. If they are not dead they are looking for a place to die. If they become caught in a fence they will just lay down and die on the spot more often than not. Trying to doctor an injured sheep or otherwise care for it usually results in it up and dying. Seems like the perfect animal to liken JW's to.

But then again on the other hand I was raised in cattle ranching country and hate sheep with a passion.
