  i ask this question for the following reason.

  i was sitting at the kingdom hall thinking about all the rules, procedures, policies, teachings that each member must follow ......or else!.

  at the watchtower study we are reminded of the paradise earth where we will all be the same and happy.

  i was thinking about the jdub paradise this morning and all of the pictures in the watchtower company's literature illustrating the new system of things.. here is a partial list of what you see in the pictures:.

  pet pandas, lions, elephants.

  people always on a picnic with lots of beautiful fruits and vegetables.

  ken cook was announced today at morning worship as the new member of the governing body.

  i dont recall him from the broadcasts, but he was formally a helper on the writing committee as per https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/governing-body/.

  “if adam and eve hadn’t sinned they would have lived forever and we would all now be still living in paradise” is how watchtower theology goes, right.

  (well not us personally, as history would have turned out completely differently and there would be different people on the planet, not us.

  when you think about it you owe your very existence to the fact that they didn’t obey.

  Changing verses in the new RNWT to suit an agenda

  it's increasingly obvious to me that part of the reason for the "new" rnwt of 2013 is to increase the authority of the organisation and the gb.

  yes, the old one was becoming dated but they have taken opportunities (liberties?

  ) with translation to increase their control.. an obvious one is micah 6 v 8 where "to cherish loyalty" has replaced "and to love kindness".

  The cross reference for generation in 1984 was (Exodus 20:5) . . bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation*,. . .and the footnote for generation there was...*Lit., “down to the third and fourth [generated] ones.”

  Of course now that the generation that was alive in their precious 1914 has died off, and we are well on the way of the third generation since then, that little nugget had to be shit-canned! It is nowhere to be found in the Rnwt.

  The "Imperfect Men" Argument

  one of the most common "defences" of jw organization is that "the brothers" are imperfect yet still strive to follow god's word.

  "sure, they make mistakes," so the argument goes, "but so did god's people in the past, including in bible times.

  " the key point is their readiness to keep studying god's word and learning from their mistakes.".

  Sister may have had a slight heart attack, do I text her?

  so my cousin phoned and told me my jw sister was taken to hospital with chest pains and it may have been a slight heart attack or possibly she's starting with angina.

  now as some of you know my sisters and brother have had little to do with me for 29 years.

  we've met at funerals, or arranged them, but i just thought today what if she did die?

  Don't get sidetracked, make a dig or bring religion into it. Just demonstrate how a normal person would act. That will be good for whoever reads it as they don't see it that often with the folks they spend time with. Kill em with kindness.

  Are JWs capable of a genuine discussion?

  i was just pondering whether jws are capable of having a calm, in depth discussion about religious or faith topics?.

  i have just finished listening to a great podcast by "dogma debate" (dan) episode 333. this fantastic, in-depth conversation between a theist and an atheist was a masterful example of how a dignified conversation can take place without it resorting to abruptness or even nastiness.. jws on the other hand seem incapable of having such discussion without ending up in the following ways:.

  1)they get dogmatic and defensive if a differing view is presented.. 2)if the conversation doesn't go their way, they cut it short saying something like "well, we had better agree to disagree" or the like.. so why the arrogance?

  Yep. Just perused a thread over on that goof-ball site JW talk. Rabid, frothing at the mouth con-damnation of "apostates". And so proud of their salivating desire to see death come to any who do not drink THEIR kool-aid! Sick bastards!!
