Do we want to do something about stopping mass murders in schools or do we just want to push our political party's agendas?
After reading the many pages of mostly drivel from the fanatics on the left I can answer that. No...and Yes!
in the aftermath of the valentine's day school shooting in florida, i have read quite a number of articles, blogs and posts about the event.
it is disturbing--and i think inexcusable--that many people take the opportunity to use horrible tragedies such as this to push their own particular agenda.. in particularly insensitive and tone-deaf tweet, conservative political commentator tomi lahren wrote: "can the left let the families grieve for even 24 hours before they push their anti-gun and anti-gunowner agenda?
my goodness.

my boyfriend, who is a disfellowshipped jehova's witness, asks me to study the bible for 3 months or he won't marry me (i'm a muslim woman).
he loves me and really wants to marry me but he is doing a passive blackmailing: if i don't study for 3 months, 1 time per week, in my home country, and without him, there will be no marriage... as a muslim, i believe the bible is god's word so i look at the bible from time to time and would be happy to study with him.
but the fact that he is kind of saying "study the bible or bye bye no marriage" is really hurtful.
the other day my wife and i were in sonoma.
we were just walking around enjoying the pleasant afternoon in the quaint, old downtown area when i saw two jw women standing by their “witnessing cart.” .
normally, i just ignore them whenever i see jws standing by a cart, but i gotta admit it: this time it really bugged me because of the title on the cart: find family happiness.
I have to admit that I wouldn't mind a little reverse cowgirl with the gal with the shades on...
eldub that get stuck on a word!.
over the years i have been around a few, that if a "big" or "unusual" word or phrase is used at the assembly or by a co/do, to stress a point.
then eldub "somebody" will use it at every meeting, if they can find a way to squeeze it into a part or commit.. most of them get over it after a few meetings.
The latest fad here is any reference to "the Branch."
Here also. The other big one is "The Slave."
have you ever heard some brothers own ideas and opinions spouted from the platform?
perhaps off brand or crazy ones?
some that i've heard is:.
One of the stupidest ones I heard from an elder was this quote , " It would be better for a brother to have sex with a prostitute than to masturbate , because masturbation is selfish."
A direct quote from C. W., last known to be in Cottonwood, AZ., "If you don't climax, it isn't fornication."
a letter was read tonight in our kingdom hall that the money that the circuits in the indianapolis area had in savings to build a new assembly hall will now be transferred to the www to build kingdom halls in lands where they are needed and a new assembly hall for us will not be built.. we had a beautiful assembly hall near downtown indy that was paid for.
it was sold a couple of years ago.
we were promised a new assembly hall to be built in southern ohio near the indiana border but they can kiss that goodbye now.
What happens if there are people who vote against a resolution?
IDK about other congregations, but in the one where I am located I have seen the "resolutions" in the file. Being FedUp with the whole shooting match I ALWAYS vote "against" every resolution since I began voting with my pocketbook. The ones I saw had two spots, one marked FOR:____ and one marked AGAINST:____. The "FOR" line simply has ALL written in, and the "AGAINST" line had NONE written. Damned liars on top of being thieves!
just wondering what would happen if a brother saying a prayer in a meeting did it in the name of michael the archangel instead of closing the prayer with "jesus christ".
since jw's believe michael is jesus would he be counseled?
what if a brother used the name michael the archangel in their public talks instead of jesus?

Same thing that would happen if a JDub called God Yahweh instead of Jehovah.
I am thinking that Bobby2446 your user name, but your title is shit-for-brains.The organization absolutely could do something to a brother who prays that way.
(1) praying on the “name” of Michael it’s not in line with the Bible
(2) The organization is under no obligation to let him pray (in other words, you have no “right” to remain a JW or to offer prayers).
That basically ends it.
the may 2018 watchtower is now out and thought i would make a few observations.in this article we get a story about gb sam herd.
the recurring theme throughout is the struggles he has had as a black man.he was born in 1935 in a one roomed log cabin in liberty indiana.
his mother raised him in the baptist church.
It'd be a very dull world indeed.
Almost like...dare I say it...the Kingdom Hall!

Well after perusing the first part of the rebuttal video I can honestly say I agree 100% with one thing that Walls said. He said to "take advantage of mature sisters," and I know a handful of mature sisters I would surely like to take advantage of, even though it is a different type of advantage I would enjoy taking with them!

A sister compliments a man on his hair cut, or his clothing? That is "totally inappropriate." according to these pinhead's!
Just wait until I get a chance to use THAT little nugget of "wisdom" when some sister says something nice to me!
