IDK what is "special" about any of these meetings anymore. The way they keep hyping "special" reminds me of Charlie Brown ALWAYS falling for Lucy's claim that she wouldn't pull the football out from under him as he tried to kick it.

Do Witnesses Experience Racial Discrimination To Your Knowledge?
by minimus inmy experience in the kingdom hall was that racial discrimination and profiling was not typically practiced....that i know of.
i was in a diverse city with every type of skin color and nationality imaginable.. i’m wondering if the witnesses have changed due to the current affairs exposed by the media everyday.
are there discrimination issues in jw land??

Are there discrimination issues in JW Land?
IDK...Does the elder who would get drunk and then use every foul-mouthed expletive imaginable to graphically describe how he would castrate Black men, where he would shove the amputated appendage, and then burn the person to death as they screamed count?
He lives in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Today’s meeting and CO visit
by Addison0998 inthe meeting today was quite disturbing as usual and had to endure 2 talks by yet another egotistical, pompous co who gives talks like a hardcore southern baptist, but people adore no matter what crazy shit spews from their mouth.
today, he talked about jesus illustration about how if your eye or hand stumbles you, remove it.
he went into gory detail about how somebodies eye ball is pulled out from their head, and what it takes to cut someone’s hand off...perhaps even with a pocketknife...in front of many small children in the audience.

I wouldn't mind knowing who that C.O. is. But do understand if one does not wish to disclose the name.
As far as the WT about baptism I noticed a lot of references to CHILD baptism. And looking at the first staged photo from next week, the little girl playing with her stuffed toy can't be much older than four. I guess WT is getting the sheeps prepped for dunking even toddlers now. No wonder they see nothing wrong with pedophilia. Sick bastards!

Appointments
by asp59 inhow big you think the percentage of reaching out for appointments in organization is base on:.
a brother wanted receive praise from other'sb wanted to marry thought having appointment would make that possiblec wife push him if he was marriedd pressure from other'se a career pathf possibility to dominate/control othersg he wanted to have appointment cause of love and wanted to help others..

Definitely A-C-F. I knew a few, very few, who were in the "G" category. They usually were NEVER appointed, or they were forced out at some time on the flimsiest of pretexts as the qualities listed there are diametrically opposed to what the WTB&BS society promotes in their "clergy".

Death
by Charles Gillette ini often wonder about death.
no one has any idea, do they?
people have speculated since the beginning of time but each original concept of the hereafter as been absurd as the one before.

Death = nothing. Were we "alive" before we were born? No. Will we be alive when we die? No.

Withdrawing community support in the congs
by purrpurr ini've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.
counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.
if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.

I really think the gb are so terrified of apostates that they are shooting themselves in the foot when it comes to how they treat the flock
Too bad they don't aim higher.

Shallowness in 4/29 Watchtower study
by Rattigan350 inmove forward as a spiritual person.. paragraph 2 "robert and his wife began passing time by quizzing each other on bible subjects.
his wife, a spiritually strong person, had no problem answering the questions, but robert found himself constantly embarrassed, not knowing what to say.".
there is no indication of how she fits the template of a spiritual person other than she can answer bible trivia.

So why does WT not condamn his unnamed wife for marrying someone who was not a spiritually "strong" man? What was it Crazy Tony said about being a MS by the time you were 23? The woman could NOT have been spiritually "strong" if she ignored governing body orders no matter how many Bible trivia answers she could spit out, could she?

So if they don't help people spiritually, emotionally or practically like a clergyman would, what is their function!
Someone has to collect the $$$$$.
Maybe it is all by design, or planned that way. The congregation or ''brotherhood" could never be at fault, it was always ""your own"" undoing per se.
That is true. It is by design, as many WT parrot lessons say pretty much what you observed. It is NEVER the responsibility of another person, it is ALWAYS your fault if you are left out, ignored, hurt, stumbled or whatever.

Why NO bibles??
by stuckinarut2 ini know we have all said it before, but it simply blows my mind that the jws doing cart work do not have bibles on the cart to give out to interested ones!.
how can they say they are "bible students" trying to share the "bibles message" and not give out bibles!?.
other christian groups take the commission to share the bible seriously!

Why NO Bibles?
Because, IMO, Bibles are similar to firearms. If you carry one you may have to use it. And just like a firearm, a Bible in the hands of an ignorant person is dangerous! So take those Bibles away from the ignorant JDubs for their own safety and that of those who may be injured by their misuse of a Bible.
