  i’ve always noticed that the local jw leaders like to give as little notice as possible for local meetings and expect you to drop everything and rearrange your life to fit their agenda in.

  i’ve noticed this more during the pandemic.

  we are not given the codes and time of memorial until a couple hours before meeting.

  Thought I would share this bit of B.S. I received in an email forwarded to me just this morning.

  We are reminded in Proverbs 22:3 "The shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself, But the inexperienced keep right on going and suffer the consequences". Jehovah has helped us all to act wisely by means of our following the direction of His earthly organization. He also knows that there will be things that we need help in understanding more clearly so that we can make wise decision regarding how we will conduct ourselves during this health emergency. Jehovah has promised that we will have the answers we need to keep us safe during these times as we are reminded in James 1:5 "So if any one of you is lacking in wisdom, let him keep asking God, for he gives generously to all and without reproaching, and it will be given him".

  
  

  Please carefully and prayerfully review the attached letter from our branch disaster relief committee. It will hopefully provide valuable guidance respecting the virus and how we can protect ourselves and our loved ones.   So there is a two page letter of Q and A instructions attached to the email. Pretty long and not sure if I should copy and paste it in this post. Reading it though gives the impression that everyone is evidently too stupid to know how to wash their hands, keep away from sick people, or stay away from healthy people if they are sick without the WT telling them the EXACT same information that has been readily available from "worldly" sources several weeks prior to the WT claiming it was God who sent the information to WT. I would imagine that the JW's will now be going on about how "wise, faithful, and discreet the slave is" after they finally start doing what they should have been doing all along.

  Do You Feel Your Rights Are Being Trampled On By Government Regarding Coronavirus?

  i support local and state and federal government’s power to safeguard the public.

  i wonder is it getting to a point where we will be told we can’t go out anymore, can’t use your phone or computer anymore because of the viruses that we can get, etc.

  are we prolonging this virus at all ?

  Yes, I do believe governments are trampling on rights. I am intelligent enough to practice good hygiene, and stay away from sick people. While I support some government intervention for public safety (think speed limits, fire and police departments etc.) I also think that government over-reach with police enforced travel bans and stay in your home orders are too broad.

  Does anyone really believe that once any government uses, and their citizens willingly accept, a level of control over their personal lives that encroaches on their freedoms as human beings that said government will readily relinquish that control?

  And NO, I am not saying that their is not a serious virus, and NO, I am not saying that measures should not be taken to ensure personal and public safety. Just that personal responsibility needs to be respected by governments or be insisted upon by the citizens themselves.

  Taken from a news source: The U.S. Northern Command on Saturday said it was deploying 1,000 Air Force and Navy medical providers to New York City over the next three days. About 300 personnel will work at the Javits Center, which has been converted into a makeshift hospital. Others will be deployed to various New York City hospitals that lack medical staff.

  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  This is awful news. What on Earth do we do now?

  We could go to a dark room, curl up in a little ball, and whimper like a child with a soiled diaper waiting for someone to do something for us, which is what it seems that many people do; or as I choose to do...live my life as normally as possible and enjoy each day, while taking reasonable precautions for my health and those around me.

  Well they are writing generic doom and gloom letters to addresses culled from a town directory, and throwing in a card about the website, and a piece of litterature about how the deaths of billions at Armageddon will solve all the worlds problems. At least that cheap paper can be used for wiping ones butt after morning duty, and thrown away.

  I just threw up! What a pants load. The writers who thought that letter up should all be getting treatment for broken arms as they worked so hard to pat themselves on their own backs! And probably treated for chapped lips from blowing their own horns.

  So the designated health officials from each country are blowing hot air, that this virus is neither contagious or deadly ?

  THAT is NOT what I said...and you damned well know it! There is a level of fear and panic being instilled that is way out of proportion to the real seriousness of the virus. And there IS an agenda behind THAT panic that is prompted by an agenda other than my health.

  Of course having a battle of wits with you will be like having a gun fight with an un-armed person!

  Due to Covid-19 all summer RC's are now cancelled. However, Jehovah has made the loving provision for all to now use the "financial resources" (money) that would have been used on Convention travel, food, and accommodations to be loving donated to the WTB&TS. Further details as to hw to get us your money coming sooooooon!

  When will it go away? Just as soon as the "powers" behind the media driven fear and panic have attained the goal they are pursuing. And that is not our health. IMO
