  my wife wondered where the provision was for a wife with a rotten husband.

  Overweight Jehovah’s Witnesses

  what was your kingdom hall like when it came to overweight witnesses?

  i remember counseling some people on their drinking habits.

  a few snickered that if we were going to counsel them because they have had way too many at a wedding reception, what about very overweight witnesses that have a lifestyle of overindulgence?

  Overweight witnesses? I got chewed out for mentioning that we could triple our meeting attendance and publisher count if only we would count publishers by the pound instead of just as individuals. I guess though that when one suffers through all the condamnation that WT heaps upon individuals they need to find comfort somewhere, and for many it is food or alcohol.

  This has always been a sore spot for me. Especially as I have been settling my parent's financial matters after their deaths.

  I have found many records of financial help my parents gave. And they are not just a few dollars (US) at a time. In one case it was well over $20,000.00. On one occasion my father mentioned in an elder meeting that a sister needed some financial help and all except one other elder and my father refused any help.

  My parents did not restrict their help to just JW's either as most of the very few who do help do. My parents read a news article about a homeless couple whose three year old daughter had died and they could not afford a proper funeral. My parents paid the entire cost of final preparation and the services. Their only condition of doing so was that it not be revealed WHO had helped. The records of cash flow my father kept are how I found out.

  Unfortunately I was not able to make all the legal changes in where they willed money before they died and WT got a pot load of money. And the greedy b-----ds could only find themselves able to write a letter asking if that was all they were going to get, or if I had more to send.

  WT never has, never does, an never will let cash flow any other way except up.

  in the past this was a great place for debate, news and support for ex jws.

  i logged on several times a day and posted several times a week.

  I don’t care about ANYONE’S political beliefs or opinions.

  Isn't it terrible to be forced to read opinions or comments you do not like? There ought to be a law against permitting discussion of any subject we do not like to read or hear about, and preventing people from posting any comment that we do not agree with.

  Strange thing, every person who posted on this site and then bitched about subject matter and went off in a huff has yet to start their own site where they could control the content.

  These guys just lowered their car gas bill to nothing, that saving is now going to the financial loan/lease for those vehicles

  Enlighten us who wonder where the electricity to power these vehicles comes from. How is it generated? How are the batteries manufactured? How are they disposed of and where when they eventually fail, as they are sure to do? Sure they cut the gas bill to next to nothing, but electricity is not free no matter how one slices that piece of bologna. What is the cost of replacing batteries?

  Easy questions to answer. As long as there are government rulers who love power, and hate the people; YES to all three questions. As long as there are enough gullible, useful idiots who believe government has all the answers and that the subjects must follow the government orders; YES.

  I guess we’ll find out in the next few months which way it will go.

  And that is why I choose to wait and see.

  Nope! Not one little bit. Reminds me of what I told a self-important JW who competed in horse shows. "A horse show is only an event where horses show off their asses, to horses asses, showing off their horses!" Olympics are pretty much in the same category of interest to me.

  Anyway it's starting to look like the game might be over for COVID hysteria.

  Sadly the U.S. is heading the other way. There was a gubmint leech just a day or so ago that is proposing that anyone that chooses not to submit to the gene-therapy injection should be placed on a no-fly list. Never mind that the largest increases of the Delta "variant" side effect of the inijection seems to be surging where mask mandates have been trotted out again, and most subjects have submitted to the jab.

  telling people that they can not evict a dead beat renter for not paying rent while the land owner has to pay for repairs, insurance, taxes and a mortgage is such a private property grab.

  The free ride via the government is over.

  There never should have been a "free" ride. People seem to forget the saying, "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch." SOMEONE is paying for the "free" stuff that the left seems to always give away, courtesy of the employed hard working man or woman, to what is normally the professional users.

  If one chooses to live beyond their means and not save a dime for the future that is not my fault, it is not the responsibility of anyone else to bail them out!

  Call me hard hearted, I had a belly full of the chronic users in the JW world who could always find enough for a new smartphone, a new car, or getting a new credit card; then they whined, pissed, and moaned about how unfair Satan's world was when the bills came due and they had no savings set aside for a rainy day to fall back on and believed it was their due to get looked after.

  I have very little sympathy for most people who cannot pay rent.
