  I know this is off topic and I don’t want the spam the board every time i have a question but doesn’t everyone who is alive today and gets killed at Armageddon who doesn’t hear the message gets a ressurection ?

  So isn’t the Russia ban a good thing because the door to door work is basically dooming 99 percent of everyone they talk too.

  Rec'd a letter from my Dad - need some advice...

  fader here - last meeting was in autumn 2005. lurker on this site and others.

  not one to get all controversial.. typical situation, pretty much a born in and left the church at age 38 and never looked back.. i'm 53 now, parents getting older - late 70s but very active, dad is still an elder.. parents, in laws, brother and brother-in-law still uber active jws.. my family (wife and 2 adult children) out since 2005.. we have stayed close to our parents - we have treaded religion lightly and have had a pretty good relationship and have kept our personal lives and beliefs/opinions separated from them.

  this was intentional - as we love them and do not want anything to cause shunning since they are getting older and want to be there for them and we respect their beliefs.. got this letter today.

  Tell them they are reaching an age where they become a burden both finically and physically and thank them for freeing you of any obligation to help out. PS. You will never see your grand kids again.

  Seriously don’t do anything . Focus on your wife and children. That is your world now.

  Poll: When my PIMI wife comes back from meeting. she is a different person. how many out there experience the same and why?

  so i am trying to understand if i am the only pomo that experiences the situation where the pimi spouse comes back from a meeting a different personanlity.

  it may not be obivious to the untrained eye, but i notice it and i know my sons notice it.

  this last round after all the loyalty bs and armagedon bs it's like she has stayed stuck in it.

  i laugh.

  Her friend works for a construction company and they were on a job in a business that decided to celebrate pride month. As soon as that rainbow flag went up , the crew left and the boss said we won’t be here as long as that flag is up. He wasn’t a witness but a Baptist.

  He referred to him as “ a really religious guy “ that Is why we are not working this week .

  I thought it was a weird thing to say. I laughed , it was kind of a Freudian slip .

  My wife literally remembers nothing from a meeting. I know because I actually test her on it. It’s so weird . They could be reading the phone book and she wouldn’t know the difference. Lucky for me because me because they deal with some pretty disgusting concepts.

  my mother says her prayers protect her. I think she is just stupid. Never marry for looks.

  Any stats on retention rates in mixed homes?

  i have a wife that i would say is a social witness.

  i have never once had a meaningful discussion about the bible or even seen her read the damn thing.

  she puts up a pretty facade of being a good witness but isn’t really a religious person.

  I have a wife that I would say is a social witness. I have never once had a meaningful discussion about the bible or even seen her read the damn thing. She puts up a pretty facade of being a good witness but isn’t really a religious person.

  I have a five year old son who is really starting to hate going to the Kingdom Hall. I just feel so terrible for him.

  The problem is I can see his future social circle being all witnesses. He has cousins and two other kids the same age in the hall. Of course being an anti social loner like myself I really don’t offer much. I am currently trying to find some Christian friends with young children.

  Hopefully I can just tell this kid in a few years this is all nonsense is centred around a failed prediction in 1914 and an editing of the New Testament.

  Is there anything I can say or do to save him from this garbage.

  so i use to go this hall that was basically 100 percent white and basically anyone under the age of 40 has either faded or makes a token effort to keep the peace at home, of course outside of the usual dregs of society .

  the hall went from two congs to one and i was quite happy that in ten years they would be lights out.

  then in the last two years about six young filipino families have moved in and three of them are newly baptized .

  It’s seems for a religion that once preyed upon on the middle class now seems to be the only people showing an interest are immigrants and the mentally ill.

  Why?

  My mother’s theory is when you grow up in a third world country you don’t receive the proper nutrition in the womb and it effects your intelligence later in life.

  I feel like a horrible person for thinking like this.
