  i gather from the posts that some here attend the meetings.

  i will look on the congregation with a new light now.. imagine maybe the girl/guy saitting next to me is you.. shall i save a seat for you all at this summers convention.

  Inane question of the year...so far.

  hello everyone, this question was asked of me by a 'tame' jw today, 'have you thought of starting smoking?'.

  the question was put as if now that i don't go to meetings any more, i'd want to take up smoking!

  as i'm middle-aged and packed in the fags yonks ago, it was especially stupid.my reply was, 'good god no, why would i?'.

  how fortunate (eck-that word) I was to be "raised in the truth" because I was living such morally clean and healthy teenaged years. She openly asserted that if I weren't a witness I would be smoking, drinking, doing drugs and sleeping around.

  This is one of the things that PO'd me in my witness days. I always felt like a new-comer, never quite as good as those 'born-in-the-truth'. Over a period of about 2 years, nearly half the teen-aged 'born-in-the-truth' girls in my congregation found themselves pregnant. It seems that with all the emphasis on the 'just say no' approach to sex, nobody ever taught them about contraception.

  Will God punish consenting Adults for having sex?

  everything considered, and without causing harm to people, should two consenting adults be able to have sex with each other ?

  Why is our genetic code 94% the same as chimps? Why do we share animal urges w them? Let me list a few:

  sex drive
  competition/dominating
  female urge to procreate
  female desire for a nice house
  war on iraq
  hunger for power

  Our witness friends and will beleive anything possible of us once we leave their organisation. It's so drummed in that if you're not for Jehovah, you're against him; they beleive that once we leave the org we lose all sense of moral value.

  Cult Status Covered Over By Blood & Why Ex's Seek To Infiltrate

  just wondering how it is that ordinary folk tend not think of jw's as a cult like, say, the moonies.

  consider what it is that makes ex's so virulently opposed to the watchtower society that joe public doesn't even know about.

  i'm talking about disfellowshipping and disassociation here, the way in which families are split, loved one's abandoned and friends made into enemies.

  our current ranking: 26,434. their ranking: 26,911 .

  what's interesting is that if you view the figures for both, the wts site gets a lot of visits from people (big name) who then view very few pages.
