  hey i just watched for the first time, monty python's "life of brian".

  i know the film is 25 years old but being a dub we could never watch such a show.

  it was great the way it made fun of the biblical story of jesus.

  I don't know how a parent can deal with themselves after kicking their teenage child out on the street. It's sad, and sick.

  Thats one of the sickest parts of this whole organization. Kwint, I feel sorry for you and your family. Maybe you should have spent more time counting Jehovahs.

  i've read the bible and i don't recall satan himself actually ever doing anything evil or harmful... however i read many accounts where god killed or tormented countless thousands of people for arbitrary reasons.. aside from prophecies where jehover says that satan will hurt people in the future (hasn't happened yet, and no sign that it will happen), can anyone cite an example in the bible where satan actually harmed anyone?.

  Satan brought God's wisdom into question. He personally misled the first couple, who were essentially children. They didn't even know the difference between good and evil.

  Without knowing the difference between good and evil; the first people were essentially powerless against wiles of the serpent. They also would not have had the ability to fully understand the prohibition to eat from the tree.

  Calling my JW sister.....Help and Advice, Please!

  it has been a long time since i spoke to my sister?a year or so maybe?

  i made a promise to myself to give her a call in the next week or so.

  i also promised my counselor, so i really have to do it!

  Your situation sounds alot like what I've been going through for the last 25 years. I find that the only way to maintain a relationship with any of my witness family members requires avoiding all reference to religion, politics, the world situation... it seems at times the only conversations we can have are about the weather or sports.

  I would advise you to TRY to maintain a realtionship with your sister. Someday she may have questions about her religion and may come to you for advice. Don't close the door, because they do; doesn't make it right.

  playing on the radio now is jackson browne's "running on empty".

  this brought to mind all those times i would be driving back to nacogdoches on that winding texas two lane highway with the dogwoods lacing through the pines, the windows down and me singing harmony.

  all the while, i'm pushing that pedal down...faster ....and faster.

  Dubs and marijuana

  years ago, drugs were classified as "pharmakia"(greek for druggery).. the watchwer did a good job in convincing others that since the pagans used drugs in their spiritistic practices......then drugs were bad......marijuana included......... they invited demons.

  recently i heard comments from dubs that medical use of marijuana would be permissable since it wouldn't be breaking the law.. the question is......why the change in classification if this is indeed true?.

  I was going to say something.... but I cant remember what. it was important though I remember that much. hey everyone, watch out for that evil Marijuana stuff. it can lead to severe depletion of kitchen cupboards and fridge.
