Evolution or Creation??
by dottie inwell i know i may be opening a can of worms here.... but after what we were taught in the wts about creation...and now that you may know more about evolution... which do you think you'd choose to believe more??.
myself...i am leaning towards evolution...but then i read things that make me think otherwise.
so i do find it confusing sometimes .

I used to lean more towards evolution. But after years of banging my head against a brick wall I've become a confirmed Cantgivaratsassavist about the whole thing. I sleep better at night when I don't have a lot of deep thoughts.

Who was Mark?
by Sargon inthis happens every year in february, i find myself doing really silly things because i've got way too much time on my hands.
today i actually found myself tracing biblical stories with my atlas.
when i got to mark 7:31 i had to scratch my head, either my atlas was wrong, my bible had a misprint, or the gospel writer mark was absolutely clueless when it came to mid-east geography.

Thanks jgnat,
Thats cool!! Looks like a valid explanation to me. Still though, maybe i knew this in a previous life and forgot, but I'm still curious 'who was Mark?'

This happens every year in February, i find myself doing really silly things because I've got way too much time on my hands. Today I actually found myself tracing biblical stories with my atlas. When I got to Mark 7:31 I had to scratch my head, either my atlas was wrong, my bible had a misprint, or the Gospel writer Mark was absolutely clueless when it came to Mid-east geography. Here's the passage:
And again. He went out from the region of Tyre
and came through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee
within the region of Decapolis. Mark 7:31 (NIV)
Well cool. I went to the library, my bible wasn't misprinted. Checked their atlas, yeh, well Sidon is about 25 miles due north of Tyre (both are in Lebanon) and the sea of Galilee lies south-east of Sidon. It makes no sense to pass through Sidon on the way from Tyre to Galilee.
So this just makes me wonder, who exactly was this Mark guy who writes as an expert on the life of Jesus, but has no clue to the geography his story was set in?

Israel Making Threats?
by Satanus inhttp://www.yourmailinglistprovider.com/pubarchive.php?iapinfo+833
speaking during an interview which was published in jerusalem friday, professor martin van crevel said israel had the capability of hitting most european capitals with nuclear weapons.
we possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at rome.

The Jews aren't going to pay attention to America. The last time they listened to a Bush they spent 40 years wandering in the wilderness.

No Eternal Life---Now What Hope Do You Have?
by minimus inone thing all witnesses have had in common is the belief that they would someday inherit everlasting life.
as more and more express the thought that they really don't have much hope for the future, has anything replaced the hope of eternal life in paradise earth?
or are we ultimately, hopeless?
-
Sargon
In the words of Jim Morrison:
"I wanna get my kicks before this whole shithouse goes up in flames."
Not hopeless Minimus, just mortal; make the most of it.

Climbing the Walls
by Sargon ini've been planning this for 4 months, well sort of.
the planning took 5 minutes the procrastination has taken up the rest of the time.
after 26 years of indulging, i've finally tried to quit smoking.

Hi Scully,
Thought I'd hear from you. Actually it is $7 per pack. I've been putting the $7/day into a jar. $14 so far. It's not much but it's a start. No goal on what to spend it on... I'll have to think.
I pretty much dislike most candies (except chocolate) so I've vetoed that idea. But what a novel idea, cleaning my apartment and doing my laundry... long overdue anyway. Besides getting the smell out it also can keep me occupied.

At what age do you plan to retire?
by JH inso many people start working young in life, and expect to retire around 58 years old.
some even retire much before that.
but so many witnesses never expected to reach that age in this system.

Retirement?? Planning???
I didn't expect to live past 30, now I'm over 40. I think my country's going to require me to die at work to help sustain our great social net.
