Do old time present day active JW`s genuinely believe in overlapping generations ?
by smiddy3 infor the life of me i can not come to terms with old timers in the "truth" who could swallow this interpretation of scripture about an overlapping generation .. when jesus spoke about "this generation" .
are their any real bible students among younger ones any more ?.
here are 3 bible scriptures that confirm a generation is approximately 40- 50 years long give or take a few years .. 1. matt:1 :17 abraham born 2016-18 bc jesus born 2 bc approx.

Great tribulaciĆ³n is about judgment of the slave class. Who is the evil and who is not. Who kept themselves awake or not. Also of false religion. If none of the different groups, that claim to be the good slave class, have kept themselves awake. Then probably all religious organization will be destroy.

The overlapping goat and sheep's. Wonder if the congregation have any real interest in what this guy's write anymore. Think most lost interest in this 'new' light's. It's only apostates that notice something new.

This is crazy, plus incorrect. There's no bible studies in new system. It's gonna be same system as in old Jerusalem. Giant assembly's in tempel. Wast of time if everyone gonna run around giving bible studies. Who's gonna take care of the world.

the GB has just cancelled the next two years
by neat blue dog ineven some democrats are advocating for reopening society, and are at least hoping for some point in 2021, but the governing body just announced that they're canceling the assemblies in 2022 as well, aiming to restart in 2023. .
they're really milking this 'pandemic', because as soon as things go back to normal that sense of urgency will start to die again, and publisher counts / meeting attendance will go down as well.
i wonder how many jws are suffering form (additional) depression from this as well, because with meetings, assemblies and conventions at least you could see and meet new people, as well as socialize.

There was the video some year's ago they wanted to sell 4000 or 6000 KHs. JWs don't seem to like it's gonna be a online religion. Facts are facts no matter if people disagree.

They have gone online. That was that with this. No point having KHs standing empty for two years. It's gonna be sold. -

How many TRUE BELIEVERS do you think are left in the Organization?
by pistolpete ini have a few jw relatives who are true believers.
by this i mean, they believe with all their heart that 1914 was the beginning of the last days, that this is the last generation, that we are in the very last of the last hour of this system of things, and that you should obey the governing body even if it does not make sense.
all of them are in their 60s and up into their 90s there is nothing you can say or show them to convince them or even cause a small doubt that the wt is not god organization.

Depends were in time the question is asked. If this was the 70s and there would be as many half empty KHs, divorces and people just getting baptized cause family told you to. I guess probably 90 procent of JWs or more would be considered not strong in the faith.

Anyone notice how when some of us older ones were in the cult.......
by mickbobcat inwhen i was a kid in the late sixties the type of books we would study was very intense compared to the bull shit pablum that they put out today?
i mean the finished mystery and others now its these stupid books that don't dive deep into the beliefs.

Phone witnessing and the Year Book
by Diogenesister inwhen the āyear bookā is published online next year, and the number of new baptisms is roughly the same as it always is, how are they going to deny that their new āconvertsā are nothing more than born-in kids of witnesses or already ācaptiveā family and friends?.
the ābillionsā of hours of service are at best pointless and ineffective and at worse often fabricated.. what say you?.

Interesting explanation they give selling kingdom halls in western world cause there's so much increase in africa ;-) But they don't show any photos or statics of all new KH in africa.

Havent gone to the kingdom hall in ten years but may have to go back...
by Joliette inmade a big mistake of talking about being raised as a jehovah's witness to some old friends and family.
people have told me that i am still a jws even though i've never been baptized.
i'm in school for social services, dealing with student loan debt, and a lot of other debt.

I actually understand your situation cause I'm in same situation. I have a disability and got some money for it. I moved to abroad were life is cheaper. I'm alone here. JW congregations are the same everywhere probably. Very hard to get into and people very suspicious of others. It's not really difficult if you wanna return to JWs cause your family is there. It's not like it was 20 year's ago this org. Members see meetings more as social gatherings and usually don't talk about spiritual things with other JWs. There are few hardcore JWs this days. Plus with zoom meetings you can have regular life being inside the org. This org is nothing like it was 20 or even 10 years ago.
