"While I love my two children very much, I feel today I should never have had them."
by running_away inthis is interesting:.

"a whole lot of the time, i just don't like being a mother, and i generally don't fit well into this role.".

If anyone feels that their children are a drag, it points to a flaw in the parents ability to understand the needs of their children who after all had no decision in their own birth. While selfishness is inherent in us all its better for the child that the parent curbs their own selfish regrets or desires and fully embraces the love, care and needs of their offspring which will benefit both parents and children. I am a father and grandfather and have never had regrets,my heart is full of joy when i think of them absolutely no regret enters my mind. -

If You Could Ask the GB Or One Of Its Members...
by Cold Steel in...one question about anything and get a straight answer, what would it be?
historical, philosophical, theological, eschatological, anything.

I have interesting conversation at the cart/trolley pitch with this very question . I paint a scenario of the gb standing with us ie 2 brothers and myself + 7 gb members standing together... all of us not inspired , not infallible and confess to making errors of judgement in biblical interpretation / understanding , i then ask the two brothers ,what differentiates us in terms of claiming to be the fds. At my last discussion one brother just outright said he takes their word for it through his faith !!? the other brother kept quite with a kind of spaced out look on his face. I felt at that moment a sense of vindication of my own reasons for not following these hypocritical charlatans .

Elders/Ex-Elders: Question about Blood
by JWdaughter inafter many years of objecting to the wt teachings on many levels, blood being one of them, i recently started to wonder (ok, i am slow!
) : what exactly does the wt think that the early non jewish christians were abstaining from in the blood abstention bit.
while i understand the context of the request that the apostle sent to the brothers, i do not understand what jws think they were abstaining from.. meat slaughtered improperly?.

As an unbeliever,if i invite a jw for a meal and they accept, if i serve blood sausage (black pudding) according to 1st cor' 10:27 would they be ok to eat (if they wished) without fear of contradicting their view on blood consumption ?

Shunning & separation from family
by CJxfarmx ini was raised in jw as a child.
my dad was a jw my mom was not, they are divorced now.

I totally sympathise with your situation , my own life and others of my family . . children grandchildren are all affected by this mind set of shunning at worst and setting of invisible barriers which create abnormal family feelings. It's my knowing that my feelings of love and togetherness are normal and harmonious as opposed to their enslaved beliefs which promote unnatural behaviour and feelings. They are ultimately the losers if they do not change.

Did anyone else go to this weeks midweek meeting?
by NikL inin the congregation bible study, the book addressed how "truth" is progressive.... 18 just as jehovah progressively revealed truths about the kingdom in the period leading up to 1914, he continues to do so during the time of the end.
as chapters 4 and 5 of this book will show, over the past 100 years, god’s people have had to adjust their understanding on a number of occasions.
does that fact mean that they do not have jehovah’s backing?
-
Fairlane
They keep harping on that jehovah..." refines their understanding " or" jehovah helps us to see". My question . ..by what method? and secondly is this new understanding the absolute final truth of the matter ? So... begs the obvious question why did jehovahs help in understanding crucial life saving information go so wrong previously . They now have publicly stated in their publications they are not inspired and they make errors of judgement concerning biblical understanding , it must follow therefore that any ' help ' from jehovah or holy spirit is unmitigated guesswork designed to keep their minions hooked on falsehood .

GB "... it can make mistakes when explaining the Bible ..." Simplified version WT Feb 2017
by freddo instudy article: who is leading god's people today?
start of paragraph 12.. standard version: "the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible.
therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction.".
-
Fairlane
Their greatest error of judgement was awarding THEMSELVES their own defined title of faithful and discreet slave, and their version of the authority which that title gives them. The admission that they are not inspired and are capable off error of judgement which in turn must imply capable of error in future judgement should not bar ANYONE from questioning their judgement, which if NOT inspired should be held to scrutiny without consequence . Any action against persons questioning their authority /reasoning resulting in some form of sanction is therefore unjustifiable as said persons are subject to the very same conditions of non inspirational judgement /reasoning whether in error or correct. They (the jw hierarchy ) have by way of their own published statements have no authority over anyone .

Will Jehovah`s Witnesses join with other religions in Compensation Payouts ?
by smiddy injustice mcclellen asked g.jackson about compensation for victims of child abuse , and mcclellan suggested it be by a consortium of groups , presumably religious and secular in nature as a pool to dispense approppiate compensation to all of the victims involved .. g.jackson hesitated and said they would have to look at the details of that proposal , before committing to it.. jehovah`s witnesses consider themselves as the only true religion and ,all others as false religion .. they take pains to separate themselves from from any association with other religions , not even being included in newspaper notices about church services.they want to keep themselves separate and distinct from false religion as they see them.. so how do you think they will handle this suggestion / requirement ?
will they join in aligning themselves with "babylon the great" in compensation .?.
didn`t they align themselves with another religion in the u.s.a. some years ago , that had to do with the w.t.
-
Fairlane
Slightly off topic but on the point of wtbts aligning themselves with other religious organisations , i recollect that they printed and published bibles for thailand bible society /American bible society which were not donated but transacted under normal buying and selling rules.....they also sit with other religious organisations regarding world religious freedoms... Therefore they will align with 'babylon the great' when it suits their own aims .... hypocritical charlatans !!

Imperfect Spiritual Food
by berrygerry inthe feb 2017 wt is being reviewed here because of the "neither inspired nor infallible" potential of the gb.. https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/6237447308443648/major-doctrinal-changes-must-on-way.
this indeed has been stated in the past.. an equally interesting phrase in that paragraph is: "of course, jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food.".
again, wt is using the "jesus never said" line.. what would make more sense is: "jesus never said that the food would be imperfect or harmless.".
-
Fairlane
" jesus did not tell us" ...in other words jesus did not think it was worthy of mentioning . How blatantly crass is that form of reasoning, what jesus didn't say is an open book for any idiot to uphold their own presumptios, then again what can we expect from this organisation of hypocritical charlatans !!

If the GB changed a major teaching, would all witnesses just go along with it?
by stuckinarut2 inso if the gb changed its "bible based beliefs" on some teaching, would witnesses all of a sudden change their individual beliefs too?.
witnesses like to claim that "their bible trained hearts and minds" make them believe as they do, but we know that the reality is that all witnesses hold their "deep seated beliefs" according to what they have been told to believe.. so what would cause the average witness to question those that dictate their "personal convictions"??.
thoughts?.

Possibly not all, but the 'brother' i was speaking to at the trolley /cart pitch would, he told me in no uncertain terms that he would follow any new 'truths' spouted by the faithful slave / gb, therefore he has already made up his mind to go along with the 'organisations teachings without even the knowledge of its content !! the mind boggles!!
