I get on with my life...no problem, but i will kick em in the teeth every opportunity sometimes gently and sometimes hard hitting depending on their attitude and response. The organization they they are enslaved to deserves no mercy, they have wrecked lives ,split families, have blood on their hands and continue to seek new converts to their non inspired error driven hypocritical bullshit !!

Is it morally wrong to put Watchtower behind?
by Darkknight757 inwith our latest and final run in with the elders, the wife and i had a very long talk about what's next in our life.
do we try to help others see the light as it were concerning watchtower or do we just let it go and move on with our life?
we have made it perfectly clear that we will never go back to watchtower and we are finally happy.

Our new life.
by The Rebel inour life's are important, and maybe for many this board represents a first in a very important step to beginning a new life?
what is that new life?
it should be a life where we fulfill our wishes, not an organizations wishes, not our parents wishes and not our friends wishes.

Not so much 'new life' but more, a different outlook. A life outside of the org' can surely only be assessed once you leave the jws and live it, if you remain under pretence by what means can you asses your life outside to me its a contradictory position. I would recommend anyone to leave with head held high and a determination to fulfill the rest of their life as best they can. Unfortunately leaving the jws can and probably will bring difficulties but the sooner they're faced the better imo its futile to stay in a pretence, that can bring more misery and emotional trauma.

Cart contrast
by Fairlane ini approached two sets of cart witnesses today the contrast in conversation was stark.
first couple older jws beware of content of internet etc...not able to answer questions on inspiration of jw publications content..she said "jesus and holy spirit" but they gb/fds not inspired, couldn't explain how without inspiration the fds got understanding of new light.
they knew nothing of australian royal commission into child abuse and nothing about the organisations involvement with u n at this point she said "i can't continue with this conversation and moved off.

Yes...old hippie the conveyor belt of life doesn't stop although my point was more about old guard hardline attitude especially as the admission of non inspiration of gb/fds is concerned, the younger couple seemed to accept my point..but as redvip says perhaps its a bit of front on their part. Hopefully some of my points will hit home for them in the future.

I continued with the 'brother who listened reasonably until i stopped the conversation. Moving on to the next couple on other end of the city....young couple early twenties very amiable listened intently to my points regarding jws regarding other religious points of view regarding scriptural understanding., to my surprise both agreed with my point that there should be no condemnation of others with a different take on understanding of scripture... the young 'sister' outspoken and agreeing first, the young 'brother saying final judgement should be left to jesus and that others could find jehovahs favour. Kind of stopped me in my tracks, i couldn't bear to tell them i am athiest. I wonder if this kind of attitude is common among younger jws perhaps the 'old guard' are on the way out.

Disassociation - shunning - can we all lobby Government that it is against freedom of religion?
by stockholm_Syndrome inif jws want to inflict shunning on members who want to remain -- knock yourselves out.
but if someone wants to leave - dont believe in an evil almighty god, bible ...or just dont agree with the rules- they should be free to leave- even after being 'disfellowshipped'.
i think it was pre 1980 that you could disassociate yourself without shunning repercussions.

Many on this forum have testified to the fact that they do 'stick around' for fear of being shunned and the heartache of losing contact with family and friends.... this is basically people being entrapped through fear...it really should be challenged by whatever means.

Mass JW exodus
by stockholm_Syndrome inmaybe there will be a mass exodus from jws when thinking people read feb 2017 watchtower telling them the governing body stuff up, shouldnt expect correct/ perfect information and basically make up guff as they see fit.....ya reckon?.

Hopefully some will see that although they admit to not being inspired and err in judgement, their claim that they are the faithful and discreet slave is derived also from non inspiration and may well be an error of judgement. They (the jws ) must therefore ask themselves by what means do the governing body claim this title, it follows it can only be guesswork. If the jws want to accept that ,then more fool them. The brain is very capable of deceiving oneself when to accept the contrary position can be a very emotional and stressful journey.

"While I love my two children very much, I feel today I should never have had them."

Parenthood is primarily not about enjoyment but the love and care for innocent lives who are ultimately the responsibility of the parents. Enjoyment of this experience of rearing children is only part of the emotions involved most of which is unselfish hard work which hopefully produces well balanced adults which brings its own rewards as well as a good helping of heartache sometimes. Those who do not wish to have children take a decision for many reasons which are understandable, but to produce children and have regrets is a different ballgame.

Regretting a type of life you may have had without the children you now have, or regretting having children because they now cramp your style is imo at the least a disregard for the value of their innocent existence. ..anyone thinking this way should have a serious talk with themselves.

If anyone feels that their children are a drag, it points to a flaw in the parents ability to understand the needs of their children who after all had no decision in their own birth. While selfishness is inherent in us all its better for the child that the parent curbs their own selfish regrets or desires and fully embraces the love, care and needs of their offspring which will benefit both parents and children. I am a father and grandfather and have never had regrets,my heart is full of joy when i think of them absolutely no regret enters my mind. -

If You Could Ask the GB Or One Of Its Members...

I have interesting conversation at the cart/trolley pitch with this very question . I paint a scenario of the gb standing with us ie 2 brothers and myself + 7 gb members standing together... all of us not inspired , not infallible and confess to making errors of judgement in biblical interpretation / understanding , i then ask the two brothers ,what differentiates us in terms of claiming to be the fds. At my last discussion one brother just outright said he takes their word for it through his faith !!? the other brother kept quite with a kind of spaced out look on his face. I felt at that moment a sense of vindication of my own reasons for not following these hypocritical charlatans .
