I met a woman on a Facebook group that I admin. nothing in her profile stated she was a JW, no comments or postings. but the background of her profile picture looked like a Kingdom Hall, I just saw chairs in a room, so I asked her, and she admitted she was one.

Do elders still ask inactive members to write a letter to disassociating yourself from the Congregation?
by RULES & REGULATIONS indo today's elders ever meet with inactive members and pressure them to write a letter disassociating themselves from the congregation stating that, ''you no longer wish to a jehovah witness"?.
i was baptized at the young age of 16. after turning 18, i stopped attending meetings, field service, and all jehovah's witness activities.
i wanted to be with my high school friends, go to rock concerts, have a girlfriend, and live like a normal teen.

I was always butting heads with the Presiding Overseer and the rest of the Body of Elders. The P.O. hated me with a passion, but at the same time respected me because I didn't kiss his ass like everyone else did, and he knew he could come to me and get a straight, honest answer. Having had enough I had him my resignation from the body, walked out the door and never went back. that was 25 years ago, they called me a few times, trying to meet with me but I just blew them off. I don't know what ever happened, nor do I care. I'm out and have moved on.

Jehovah’s witnesses and having kids
by Addison0998 inin my area, a lot of young people don’t want to have kids.
they get married young from 18-22 years old, and think that they know how they’re going to feel the rest of their lives about having children, (which they think will be never).
i respect people who don’t want to have kids, there are good reasons not to, but i think it’s foolish at a young age to think you will never think differently for the rest of your life.

I always wanted to kids, my wife at the time told me she wanted kids too, turns out she lied. It took 7 years to have our first child and another to have our second. By the time we had kids we had already left the JW's. She regretted waiting so long, especially when she runs into childhood friends who are the same age as we are and are already empty nesters. We divorced after 25 years, I remarried.

The Jehovah's Witnesses religion founded upon aggressive opportunistic people.
by Finkelstein intaking a reflective look back onto the founders of the jw religion such as c t russell and j rutherford we can see very opportunistic people who were avowed to themselves more so than being actual true bible interpreters and adherents.. indication of that is just how closed in these men were in their individually devised theology such as pyramidology, end times doctrine, jesus has returned and so on, where there was no effort to substantiate these claims from outside sources by other christian religious organizations .. c t russell was not an trained bible theologian by any imagination he just absorbed any outside information that he thought was engaging or provocatively interesting and went about publishing what others had found or expressed.
j rutherford was one these people who was lured into what russell was preaching and saw what the wts was as a publishing house and grab it including the money that russell had put into it.. the literature circulation and distribution continued on from him, what is realized now is the wts/jws preaching gospel work is not an faithfully accurate preaching according to scripture.
more or less the wts leaders created a working cult around its own public sales representatives in the pretense of preaching the gospel of jesus christ.

I don't think Rutherford was lured into anything. I think he was an opportunist, who saw a chance of cashing in.

Transferring Congregations
by optimisticskeptic inwhat is included in the publisher cards and other information when you transfer from one congregation to another?
i was privately reproved and may be moving to a congregation where there are brothers i rather not know why i was privately reproved.
is the fact i was privately reproved visible but not the reason why?

As far as I'm aware, EVERYTHING goes. In fact, the elders within both congregations will eventually talk. Your new elders will no doubt want to know personally from your old elders what type of person you are.
