2/2022 WT: a repeated request & more doubletalk
by neat blue dog inwe all know the now famous quote, "all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.
" well, this point is regurgitated in the latest wt, along with yet another new bunker scene:.

Disfellowship
by justice34 ini'm dealing right now with veru extreme situations that most of us have been in this sect.. i've talk to the elders because i was smoking cigarettes and i stopped for a couple of weeks.
the reason i did that because mamy things are going on right now in my life.
i'm out, i don't attend meetings i don't want to do anything with them anymore but i live in a small community so i want to go out without giving attention to anybody.. the reason i told them what i'm doing because my wife is still one of them and other people learn of some other things i have been doing and i had to tell something for obvious reasons.. the elsers tho the haven't answer to me back in 2 weeks almost and today one of them called me to give me some information.

I don't want to get disfellowship
Voluntarily confessing to a couple of elders that you are smoking seems to be incompatible with that desire.
That said, the cat's out of the bag now.
Your only hope would be to convince them that you are "truly repentant". This would involve lots of crying, appearing to utterly gutted about your "damaged relationship with Jehovah", expressing a strong revulsion to smoking and vowing to never do it again, and generally sniveling like a puppy caught with a half-eaten sausage in its mouth.
You mentioned you haven't attended meetings in a long time, so your act would have to be Oscar-worthy.
Good luck, sounds like you will need it.

Is the preaching work Jesus taught being diluted during the pandemic?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe real preaching work:.
2 timothy 4:2. preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.. matthew 10:8.
“heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons.

Re-revised NWT, 2022 edition:
2 Timothy 4:2
"Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season, unless, of course, breaking data protection laws would lead to the Watchtower Organization being penalized and heavily fined. There is nothing more holy than money belonging the Watchtower Organization, and making sure none of it is lost to any [Satanic] human government is by far the higher priority. But hey, you know, if preaching the word lands a few, or a few hundred, of our adherents in prison, well hey, whatcha gonna do? Them's the breaks. Keep warm and well-fed brothers, the governing body loves you all very much."

If you want some lolz, here is the JW Talk discussion of the articles:
https://jwtalk.net/topic/50596-the-watchtower%E2%80%94study-edition-february-2022/
At the moment, the thread is in the "publicly visible" section so you don't need a login to view it. That may change as the comments become (even more) bizarre.
Lots of talk about disposing of dead bodies after Armageddon, anti-matter, what folks will eat after Armageddon, etc.
Interesting to see the cognitive dissonance arising among the few who spend more than 10 seconds thinking about what a global slaughter of 7 billion people would really be like. Those who recognize the "danger" of this "independent thought" are trying to corral in the rest with "stop thinking about it, Jehovah will take care of it" comments.
If you think you miss the "spiritual conversations" at JW "get-togethers", reading that thread should immunize you for a while.

Love the bunker picture.
Society has broken down. Churches are burning. Martial law is in effect. A "great tribulation" is raging. Crazed demonic hordes are roaming the streets, having vowed to kill any JW on sight. Searching houses...where are the JWs? Where are the JWs? Gotta find the JWs....
Meanwhile, in the JW bunker, electricity is working fine, router & Wi-Fi are A-OK, and it apparently never occurs to anyone that Brother Elder's functioning tablet almost certainly has a GPS locator which will identify to anyone remotely competent exactly where his bunker is.

What changes are on the way?
by insearchoftruth ini was listening to the co talk to my wife’s congregation on sunday and pretty much the complete talk was justifying doctrinal and organizational changes and pretty much preparing the ‘rank and file’ for upcoming changes.
anyone on hear have any insight of what ‘new light’ is coming in the future?.

Credit where credit is due.
"Scholar" is by far the most effective troller I've ever seen.
Pro tips for the amateurs:
-- Stick to just one topic - focus, focus, focus
-- Repeat yourself, er, repeatedly
-- When trapped beyond hope, simply state "that is your interpretation" and plow right on ahead

And on every site where it's to be found the comments are the same. Glowing reviews, copy and pastes. How's that possible?
Much to learn you have in the ways of the interwebs, young paduwan.

Gad, what a bunch of maroons.
How many 10's of thousands of pioneer applications have been approved by elders from JWs eager for the "cachet" of being called a "pioneer" but who aren't able to get even 1/4 the normally required hours?
So apparently it never occurred to the WTS brain trust that current pioneers would be excitedly talking about how there is no hour requirement to anyone & everyone, and nitwit elders would "encourage" JWs to pioneer, mentioning as it does in their COVID guidelines that "there is no hour requirement even for newly appointed pioneers".
And now, 3 months later, as they see those 10's of thousands of new pioneers, all getting the same 10 or 15 hours per month as they did when they were "just publishers", they think, "gee, maybe we should have provided a little more guidance".
Idiots.

So, When Did They Stop Singing?
by Atlantis inrutherford said:.
a few words like the above pronounced at the beginning of the study would be far more beneficial than to occupy the same time in singing songs, which often express much that is out of harmony with the truth of and concerning god's kingdom.watchtower/1938/may/1st/pg.139 .
back then, they had what was called: order of study, and this is what every overseer was instructed to say to the audience.. .

Good gravy, that statement reads like something written by a pompous ass drunk on (not necessarily in this order) his own sense of self-importance and unfiltered corn whiskey.

IIRC there was a big big controversy about whether to finally include it or not in the canon of accepted books. I'm pretty sure it is documented somewhere, all the back and forth of the debate.
Yes, it was definitely written under the influence of....something!
