Aren't week-ends just great?
by Sadie5 innow that you're out of the borg and don't have to get up saturdays to peddle magazines, try to fit in the family watchtower study, get up sunday mornings to rush off to the kingdom hall, do you feel like week-ends are great?
it feels great just to sleep late on one or two of those days if i want to.
i can spend hours on the internet or read a whole newspaper.

completely OT....leech infection!
by scootergirl inokay.....now this thread is completely off any topic i have seen here before...but i am just in shock over an infection that my 9 year old son got w/in hours of swimming at an area lake.
my kids went swimming for about 4 hours yesterday and my middle boy, james, found a leech in his belly button on the ride home.
he didn't think anything of it and pulled it off.

Yes, the infection is clearing. I was getting a little concerned because it was still pretty red and inflamed after a few days on the abx., but this morning most of the redness was gone. James is upset w/me because I won't let him go back into the lake until he is completely done w/the meds and the infection is cleared. Thanks for asking......you people are great!

I LOVED MY WIFE ...... (1)
by Bhagavad inbut now she's gone ...... from breast cancer a couple of years ago.
we prayed and prayed to jehovah in jesus' name: the "ask anything in my name" jesus.
we asked jehovah, not to cure her miraculously, because that's what people pray for in tent revival meetings.

I can relate to your pain and frustration.
12 years ago my husband died. I remember the drive to the emergency room and all the pleas I made to Jehovah. I was had been out of the borg for a few years then but still prayed to Jehovah.
When the nurse took me into that concrete sound proof room and told me I was too late and the LeRoy was "gone" I was devasted.
Grief is a terrible thing to experience. Twelve years later, there are still times when I shed a tear when I find an old photograph or hear his favorite song on the radio. It hits me very hard when I see our daughter doing something that I know her father would have been proud of and knowing that my prayers weren't answered that dreadful night.
They say "time heals"....but in reality, time just makes it more bearable. We never forget....and for that I am thankful.

JW CHILD ABUSE VICTIMS $$$$$$450,000
by crawdad2 inare you a jw or exjw who is being abused, or has been?................
you have until you are 20yrs old, to report it, and sue for damages......... some lawyers suggest around $$$$450,000.......four hundred and fifty thousand us dollars............ because of all the damage they did to you..................... if you have all the facts, .........the names and places...........and it's all legit.............i suggest way more for damages......... to help correct the problem.
there are some good lawyers on this site.

I just want to say something, coming from "personal experience" NO amount of money is compensation for such a crime. What about holding the perps responsible? You can hand anyone a check....but that doesn't even begin to heal the pain involved. I am not saying that I am against financial restitution, but I would most definately want people held accountable for their actions....like JAIL TIME!

My daughter had a leech on her little toe and pulled it off......she now has an infection also! There must be something in the water. The doctor said that we don't know if the leech was the cause of the infection or the lesion was the "passageway" for the infection. Either way, my children are staying out of the lake for awhile.

EXORCIST...........
When my youngest was a wee baby, I got up w/him in the middle of the night. The exorcist was playing on Dish, so I thought I would watch it, always wanted to. But let me tell you, the first time that chicky spun her head around and talked in that strange voice, I went flying down the hallway, jumped into bed and woke Filthy up! Talk about scared....no mind you, for those that know, we live in the woods. Know hard dark and quiet the woods get in the middle of the night?! YIKES
Then, last year, the Excorcist was playing on pay-per-view and I asked Filthy to watch it with me. He laughed thru the whole thing and I shuttered.
I too am drawn to the paranormal.....for some strange reason I really enjoy it......but I guess the movie was just too much for me.

Were you chaperoned?
by writerpen innow that i'm out of the borg and realizing that i've never dated, i think it's in the near future for me.
so i was thinking about my age of 30 and never being on a date.
but even worse, i was thinking of those of you who dated while in the borg and had to deal with an audience - actually i had to laugh when thinking about the absurdity of the scenario.

As a parent, and I know that I am going to get slack from some on this one, I will encourage my adult children to consider living w/someone BEFORE they get married. I would much rather have then co-habitate before marriage then go thru a divorce. Of course, this doesn't mean that I would approve of my children living w/every tom-dick-and harry, but for someone that they are seriously considering as a life-partner, YES.....Live together.
**Do you hear that MOTHER.......LIVE TOGETHER WITHOUT A CHAPERONE! Betcha her ears are ringing now!
