I have been guilty of "not listening" before.....but I have tried to make an effort to really listen. I do believe that true listening is something that some people have to be trained to do.

Do ppl really listen?
by WildTurkey indo you think ppl really listen?
do most ppl really care enough to really hear what another person is saying from the heart?
i dont believe that most ppl really listen to what your saying, i think they are listening for a break in the conversation so they can talk.

Have you partaken?
by writerpen inthis sunday will be my first partaking of the bread and wine at communion.
almost a year after having come away from the dubs and i'm just now feeling "safe" to partake.
so for those of you who have experienced this already, what do i do if i drop the bread on the floor by accident?

I have partaken only a few times since 1987 (I think two to be exact) and each time I phsycially got sick to my stomach before hand! I think it was all those years of feeling "unworthy". I totally agree w/the "mental block"...it was very difficult for me to do so. Now I do feel worthy but I don't actively attend any b&m house of "worship"....

I am sorry to hear of your mother's passing and also of your sister's.
Grief is a terrible thing to go thru......I know from first hand experience (as well as others here also). I hope that your pain eases with time and that you find the comfort in treasured memories.

Does anyone here workout on a regular basis?
by Leander ini just wanted to get a little dialog going with some of the members here who workout.
i know reborn works out quite a bit and i've been doing fairly well as of recently in getting back into a regular exercise regimine.
so far i've worked out everyday for the past 17 days, i usually try to do weight training at least 3-4 times a week and i usually do some cardio everyday.

We need a little controversy !
by lucidentity init is always interesting to note the blasphemy and the be-littling of higher powers.
how dare you all question god?
how dare you all think that with your puny little brains you have conquered the mysteries and understandings of life?

Worship Him and He will reward you....
That is right....... worship HIM not the borg!
Be faithful to your HigherPower not a bunch of men in Brooklyn that dictate your life.
Prove to me that Jehovah's blessings are shining on the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and not any one else. Go ahead.......give me one ounce of proof! Show me that the Jehovah's Witnesses are the one "True" religion and that they are a "special chosen people". Explain to me why you feel that everyone else's faith is in vane because they are not an active member in good standing as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Sucides-WT-mental illness
by moman inwhen questioning the rate of sucides among jw's & how the #'s compare to the general population , i believe these things are of worthy to note:.
the "high wire act".
the whole demeanor of the rank& file jw is bred from a impossibly awkward & fabricated persona.

Thank you for your post, littleangrypolishgirl. I am so very sorry about your sister.
It took many many years of counseling before I finally felt that I was "okay". My journey to recovery has been very difficult and painful at times but well worth the effort.
Good for you to seek help.

My mother use to say that exact same thing to me...."where else are you going to go"...
My response today would be.....
I am going to a place where I can worship freely w/out guilt, w/out fear. I am going to go to a place without spiritual abuse and complete control. I am going to GO AWAY FROM THE DUBS!
