The DOJ need look no further than the down the street to one of the thousands of local churches that have no members, but retain their tax exempt status. They are easy to identify.
When the IRS cracks down on these pseudo religion/businesses, they can gain back the respect that they have lost among tax payers.

Does this pretty much sum it all up?
by Tahoe injehovah witnesses are hypocrites and false prophets who are conning themselves.
jehovah’s witnesses, a christian denomination/cult known for their distinct beliefs and practices, have long faced scrutiny and criticism.
while they present themselves as a cohesive and morally stringent group, numerous inconsistencies and instances of hypocrisy have been noted both by outsiders and former members.

The carts are often seen in my area, but I have NEVER seen anyone talking to them. Not even once after many years. Really - not even one time. Zilch, nada.

I am not familiar with the forum that the article was posted on but the comments seem negative.
I did appreciate that it covered all the top issues that exJWs have with WTC.
In particular, I noted that lack of financial transparency was listed. In the US, this is getting attention as many churches get tax exemption while having no members and no evidence of charitable.
The IRS is feverishly looking for money, and I suspect that it won’t be long before they go after all the pseudo religions like WTC after they make an example of “Joe’s Baptist Church” in podunkville, OR.
The false fronts represent a considerable amount of missing taxation. Previous attempts have had mixed success, but then the US wasn’t in debt $35 T.

Will Governing Body follow through with New Zealand Royal Commission's recommendation to publicly apologize?
by was a new boy in'following on from an apology from the prime minister, the commission recommends all faith-based leaders offer a public apology, including the pope, the archbishop of canterbury, the president elect of the methodist church, the moderator of the presbyterian church in new zealand and the head of each individual presbyterian support organisation, the general of the salvation army, the overseeing shepherd of gloriavale, and the governing body of jehovah’s witnesses.'.

The GB will never offer an apology or anything resembling one. No one should hold their breath…

Mass formation control and the Organization
by truthseeker inmass formation control.
most of the changes in the organization have been doctrinal and as a rule jws would not openly discuss these for fear of being labeled an apostate.
examples include overlapping generations and types and antitypes.

I agree that they know what they are doing but there is nothing sophisticated in their strategy. They have access to all the numbers that they collect from Secretaries, CO's and Branches, and the numbers are bleak.
The GB knows that the way to retain and attract new members is to lighten the load . Reports from the field prove that members feel that the load is too heavy. So, they make changes that they feel will make members sigh with relief.
However, eventually, there is nothing else they can do. They can't quit shunning. They can't stop demanding that congs turn over their funds. They can't stop selling KHs. They can't turn their CSA records over to authorities.
They are backed into a corner and the only thing left is to relax holidays and blood. They may allow birthday celebrations but they won't relax their view of blood transfusions. They have a huge legal department and it still isn't enough to field all the challenges.

Ages of each user here?
by ukpimo ini'm interested to know the age demographics here.
it must be significantly different to other exjw forums.
it would be a damning report for watchtower if most of us appear to have left for decades.. you don't have to mention your exact age, you could always say "in my 50s".. i am in my 70s.
