Do JW's know what their FDS is doing with donations?
by The Fall Guy inaccording to the official figures in this post 2 years ago - https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/217902/uk-congregations-jehovahs-witnesses?page=4 - the scottish congregations had a combined total of just over £1.845m in their bank accounts.
i wonder how much of that money was siphoned off by the org when their "recommendation" to congregations to hand over their surplus cash was issued.
isn't it tragic that all that money would barely cover the court's fine of $4000 per day which the cult has amassed so far in the padron case.

I asked my mother if it bothers her that her donations are paying lawsuits defending their child abuse policies. She said "no, it's what Jehovah wants. It says so."
Exactly where does Jehovah say so? The Borg says so and they are not God but as we have seen the blind followers can't separate the organization from God. They see them as one and the same.

I think if you leave out the word cult and made it about religion in general some of them would read it.
If it is an obvious book about the JWs they wouldn't read it unless they were already on the way out.

God Cannot Lie, But God's Organization Can?
by AmABeliever inin the recently leaked bethel training videos, both speakers state that inappropriate flirting really amounts to lying, as if a person is misrepresenting either his interest or availability to another person romantically.. we are reminded that the bible is very plain in its expressions on lying such as proverbs 12:22 which states it is detestable to god.
so with the example given here, we must have a very high standard in separating what is truthful from what is not.. with that being the case, it shocks me that bethel would produce a video presented to all in attendance at the 2017 regional convention regarding the early 1970's, essentially rewriting history as to what actually happened.. is misrepresenting your past and misleading millions of followers not a much more extreme case of lying from those who claim to reject any form of lying no matter how small, such as flirting?
would anyone like to add more examples to this thread?.

Sometimes I think I want to say to my uber in mother - "you know as sad as you are that we are no longer attending meetings etc, that is how sad we are that you cannot see that you are being lied to and misled".
It makes me very angry.

A pet peeve
by punkofnice ina pet peeve of mine is that there are numerous christian denominations (other faiths with their 'holy' books too), all claim that their interpretation of their 'holy' book is the correct interpretation.
my conclusion is that either their god is a very poor communicator or simply doesn't exist.. i used to believe all this stuff when i was a jobo and later a church going christian.
i simply cannot, in all honesty subscribe to it all any more.

I was just saying to my husband the other night, that all the experiences that are attributed to god answering prayers and therefore proof that they have found the right religion - for every one of these there is a same answer to a prayer in yet another religion proving to them that they are on the right track. So either god is answering all these prayers and is not interested in just one religion or there is another explanation to these supposed answers.
Oh and I have to share this with you because it made me laugh- my 10 year old has done something to my computer so that every time the word Christian/s comes up is see the word Spaghettiian and every Jesus comes up as Jeffy.
