Why did Satan want to kill Jesus?
by FaithfulBrother inwhy would satan have wanted to kill jesus if jesus' death would defeat satan and save mankind?
why would satan enter judas at the last supper and get judas to betray jesus, leading him to his death, if this death is what defeated satan?.

7 Governing Body Members = 21 Condo Apartments ?
by Alfred ina few years ago, a bethelite mentioned to me that each gb member has an apartment in patterson, walkhill and brooklyn... a total of 21 condos.... now, assuming this is true, i'd like to make an extremely conservative estimate of these condos.... if each condo is worth only $250,000 us, that's still a total of $5.25 million.
assuming the furnishings are worth on $50,000 for each apartment, that's another $1.05 million.
add to that number their vehicles (worth roughly $30k), that's another $630k... all told, we're looking at a number well over $7 million (by this conservative estimate).... any ex-bethelites care to shed some light on this subject?

While they may not live in the lap of luxury, they are living off the generosity and gullibility of the people they've lied to. If it were any enterprise other than religion, they would be in prison for fraud, where they would also have free housing and three squares a day.

One needs to understand that Satan the devil or lord of evil was created to counter goodness.
LOLz.
Know me not, you do.

That question actually gives more credibility to the notion that Jesus orchestrated his own execution. He had been a pain in the @$$ with the Jewish priesthood in control at the time - doing good deeds on the Sabbath, exposing their moneychanging in the temple, etc. They wanted him silenced - dead - to protect their corrupt practices. Jesus wanted to be a folk hero, and being martyred played into those plans too.
It's not terribly unlike the way the WTS used to incite riots by encouraging JWs to picket churches, and then suing for human rights violations once they were arrested.

Jehovahs Witnesses and AML
by Marvin Shilmer injehovahs witnesses and aml.
today i uploaded a new article addressing the dilemma faced by jehovahs witnesses diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (aml), and the doctors who desperately want to provide the best medical outcome.
the situation is not what jehovahs witnesses are led to believe.

A while back, I read People of the Lie, by M. Scott Peck. He made reference to Erich Fromm's definition of necrophilia, which included
the desire of certain people to control others--to make them controllable, to foster their dependency, to discourage their capacity to think for themselves, to diminish their unpredictability and originality, to keep them in line.
In contrast, the "biophilic" person
appreciates and fosters the variety of life forms and the uniqueness of the individual, he [Fromm] demonstrated a "necrophilic character type," whose aim it is to avoid the inconvenience of life by transforming others into obedient automatons, robbing them of their humanity.
In other words, necrophilia, as defined by Fromm, included the murder of the individual, if not in body, then definitely in mind and spirit.
Sound familiar?

I bought the book, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting to see from Dawkins. I flipped through it quickly and put it away. I'll have to sit down and read it this summer. I have some Evangelical Christian in-laws coming to visit and don't want them to overstay.

A conservative estimate of preventable deaths in year 2011 among Jehovah's Witnesses suffering severe anemia is right at 2,000 souls.
I remember posting a long time ago, that if the number of deaths among JWs for lack of blood transfusions occurred all at once, instead of one at a time, in isolated incidents, the body count would be greater than Jonestown, and the outcry against the practice would be deafening.
918 people - men, women and children - died at Jonestown. We have here a conservative estimate of 2000 preventable deaths in 2011 among JWs. That's more than TWO Jonestowns in a single year.
This has to stop. We have to start making a lot more noise.
